I do not understand this, primarily as I have less understanding of all this. I booked through Capital around 20th Jan or so, the representative although not very pleased with his dealing then said that they could only book 100 and 40 or so are already booked and likely all to be booked in that same week i.e. if I need a CBU, I better have it then. Strange they're still booking. Not that other ppl should not have it, just misleading.

And a bit off topic and not only specific to MG. But this is absurd, having money in hand or having the amount paid and then waiting for 5-7 months like lunatics. Just unethical and unprofessional, like this does not happen in any part of the world as I know of. Dill hi khatam hou jata hai intezaar mae.

Definitely, it’s a lot of time to wait.
But it seems to be a problem with our entire automotive industry

Own has really become such a big problem now about 2 years ago when demand decreased own was almost non existent after launch of cars like Yaris and Tucson own has been on the rise ever since
The only way to combat it is buy booking and waiting for the car and if possible book the car right at launch which is a bit tricky as you don’t know how the car will be but you will get the car when investors get theirs

is main bhi problem hai.. especially in the past 2 years.. cars prices kept increasing so rapidly that it's impossible to think now that after 3-5 months, prices would remain the same and you will not end up paying more money even after waiting for your booked car's delivery : (

and about the other part... investors come in so rapidly that they usually do not give a chance to a common buyer to actually inspect and evaluate his decision making : ( just what happened in the case of Alsvin ..and MG also somewhat... most of them are being sold at 65 lacs now ,, of course investors booked and bought them : (

I very much doubt the farsightedness investers/dealers hold. How come most/ majority have vehicles readily available and end consumers not? Makes things skeptical.

seems like the vehicle is sold and picture is shared by a user owner.
what kind of delaership MG is running? Dope consumers working at 3S? Any idea why these shipping hooks are still in place the filler is hanging while hook is there.

it appears that CBU units will be disposed off left as orphan grey vehicles within next 20 months or so.

They are importing parts brother they don’t have an assembly line yet and these parts of coarse won’t be ready available it takes time to bring them here same is the case with other importers like bmw Dewan who took 3 months to source a left backlight for my 3 series

Agreed I don’t know why people aren’t even giving MG the slightest bit of praise here I mine clearly they are offering better products then the likes of Kia and Hyundai and are a new brand and will take till to adjust so respect should be given where due

No one is talking about cars quality features looks comfort etc the only thing people are doing is finding ways of criticism towards MG
Like cars are not being registered which they are now
Cars can’t be imported anymore yet 300 more units just arrived two days ago
They have no service centres which they are steadily developing and some are even functional now
Parts availability is low which is not good but still they will source them for you and you will get them and are not readily available because they are new and imported

It all happened even for Kia and for Tuscon. i have seen people in my office even waiting for Honda parts sometimes. MG as of their launch time is doing well.

Very well said! Criticising is very easy but the facts are that MG is a much more attractive option compare to KIA and Hyundai and the JW-SEZ group is here to stay, obviously it will take time for them to establish their proper dealership network but it will surely happen.

Not biased to MG in any way. I have personally booked Tucson as well.

MG HS is the best looking crossover in local market at this time. But my biggest concern is high-octane fuel requirement and engine reliability. Also I hate small turbo engines, the turbo lag takes the fun out of the drive. I hated the turbo lag in my 1.8 Audi A4. The 2.0 naturally aspired engines of Sportage and Tucson are a clear winner in this category.

I agree with you - Fuel quality here is not up to the mark and doesn't suits turbo engines. Its better to go for MG ZS instead HS. About parts availability it will be an issue for some time like we have seen in many other imported cars (came here as 3.5 o 4 graded) used cars from Japan like Vezal, Juke, Freed etc. At least we are getting a zero meter MG in the used price Tag.

Note: i am not a MG owner or supporter, Just my observations.

What I don't like about MG and MG HS:

1) They're trying to fool the public. British flags everywhere. While it's a SAIC Chinese car. Why not just mention this fact? Why pretend it's not Chinese but British?

2) No concrete info on local assembly

3) No 3S in most of the major cities, forget small cities

4) Engine - requiring hi octane fuel. It's a big no specially for northern areas and rural areas too.

So, yeah, its shape is very very nice. Interior is very nice too.

But the company handling it
And its hi octane fuel requirement is a big bummer.

What use if I can't find hi octane in northern areas. Or with difficulty.
