Inshaa-ALLAH. Agar ALLAH TALA nae chaha aur khair rakhi, I'd make a detailed thread, in-depth review and experience, once I get hands on mine Insha-ALLAH.
Putting in my two cents till now i.e. 2-3Km test drive I was offered or more as we were two family members who wanted to test drive hence longer experience.
Considering driven both competitors extensively being Sportage and tucson as I was spending money and I had to check.
First experience was the new Sportage about 1000Km done, interior was very welcoming, pleasent especially the steering
(gave a very high end premium feel). Secondly, the buttons on dashboard were very well sized, positioned as they should be. Thirdly, very roomy, one does not feel claustrophobic at all.
Irrespective of Auto Pilot/lane assist etc. features in HS, the basic let downs of Sportage were:
1) Steering and ride were very soft, very less road feel and less road grip. I was very convinced to get a sportage the moment I sat in it, after driving it right away I knew its a BIG no.
Wherease for Tuscon, interior was not appealing to me at all same old same old (a No for me). And for the drive almost or the same as sportage soft/less road feel.
Following are the observations I've narrowed down for Hs:
1) Hs ride is stiffer, steering more like Civic's 10 Gen, more road feel and car tends to be more present at the road i.e. grippier as opposed to others.
2) Ride/ suspension is not soft as Kia or other and the person tends to feel bumps more and at higher vibrations.
3) I felt there's a turbo lag, as car did struggle initially not something I expected or wished I observed. As I have had Civic Rs, and I had something similar in mind.
4th) The buttons on the dash board although look very premium, but after one presses them, a very cheap clicking sound one hear's to which one would not expect feom a car of this cadre.
5thly) I may be wrong on this, the rear seats do not recline(although they do recline 3 way adjustable) to the point/extent I was hoping they would.
Now coming to the point why I chose Hs over others.
1) A beautiful car and just absolute beautiful interior, I chose beige and what a beauty to my eyes it was ( miles apart, a different ball game altogether).
2) DRIVE, I have a Civic X and mostly I compare others with Civic. It had the closest drive to civic in its class i.e. as compared to sportage and tuscon. Most road grip and presence.
After all it were the aesthetics, interior build quality and finish that made me put my money on this car.
I can safely say Hs was not a car that I myself had to forcefully convice to like for the reason of price tag.
Peace.
