Agreed with steering switches
Visited MG's display in Packages Mall Lahore yesterday to take a look at HS and ZS, didn't get a test drive as we were in a bit of hurry and the test car was being test driven by some other group.
Opinion?
Exterior wise, the fit and finish / panel gaps are really good, paint quality seems better than both KIA and Hyundai.
Interior:
Steering wheel buttons are definitely a letdown, compared to Civic, Altis', Kia or Hyundai's switches, the ones on MGs feel like comparing Apple's volume key's to Qmobile's. the big red sports mode button on HS, same. Push start button is covered in silver paint that will scuff and come off.
HS: Plastics seems like horrible quality specially the lower dash and center console, and there's a hollowness present when knocked like old Suzuki's, the ones that will definitely produce karr karr sounds when vehicle is driven in winter when the interior is cold.
ZS: The leather clad interior seems much better but what's beneath it is the question after checking out HS. The silver pedals look cool but the metal plate thingie on daihatsu charade's original floor matts is more solid.
I'd say it is like American cars, looks better than JDMs when new but isn't made to last.
And I hate why Alhaaj Group isn't marketing their Proton X70 as aggressively as DFSK or MG. It seems a better option now.
