How reliable is MG HS engine?

It's a GM's engine.. also found on Chevy models like Spark, Malibu , Cruze and I believe in some Opel models.

Honestly I was really tempted to upgrade civic X to a HS once I saw a shinning black HS close up(damn it looks good), but the overall uncertainty of the company and most of all the 1.5T engine ( Hi Octane) is the reason I can't go for it.
If it was an NA engine I would have already gone for it I think

Sir I’m saying this because the only thing most people are doing here is talking trash against MG without any reason I have contributed the most just because I want to give my thoughts that’s all but what kind of thread has no reasonable queries answers and user experiences
I like this thread a lot and definitely want to continue doing so but some of the people commenting here just blindly criticise the car mostly and most discussions are argumentative with no facts at all except a few

As per my info they are eyeing HS production for now and later on coming up with the MG Gloster/D90 although not confirmed yet

Whats wrong with voicing your opinion? There are dozens of people who don't agree with you here... and all for the right reasons. Show me one car brand that is operating 3s dealerships from containers, who is importing CBUs in such a large bulk using shady means...

I'm sorry but people considering this vehicle need to be aware of the complete picture, not just the car itself. You are welcome to leave if you feel hurt, but no one here is out to hurt you personally

I haven’t said that anyone has targeted me the only thing I am saying is that this thread is too negative I mean people are mostly highlighting the negatives and leaving the positives and most of them are not even considering it although I’m not saying this either that ones opinion should not be given as their operation is still not complete
I myself always give comments in favour of MG along with negatives as well of course we can’t make people how we want them to become but still

Apart from the cosmetic appearance of MG and the interior......please tell me which positives do you want us to look at?

If you think this is more than enough then i guess you need to understand that importing a car and being an auto assembler with a 3s dealership network are two very different things.

For all we care he can go ahead and import 10 thousand MGs, we already imported thousands of JDMs as well. But what are the issues with JDMs? Expensive spare parts, non availability of proper technicians etc etc

If you want us to praise the looks then we all agree it looks good. Feels goos from inside as well. But other than all this. What else do you want us to praise?

Like my company is playing, it kicked out Schlumberger, weatherford, exalo.The biggest oil and gas company in the world.They packed up sold everything and are gone.

LOL ...... Schlumberger and Weatherford still have strong presence in Pakistan and they have major working contracts with OGDCL & PPL .

P.S. If you really are a Petroleum Engineer, you should know that Schlumberger and Weatherford are not "Oil & Gas companies", they are service providers only

Bro everyone has his opinions we can’t change them you have yours I have mine I can’t change your opinion nor you can change mine when have I even said that you should blindly talk everything good about MG I know there are many problems at the moment in their operation but I simply said why can’t we share general facts rather then assumptions like they are going to leave the market or that it’s not here to say and all
I mean blind criticism is not good either almost everyone comes here to criticise it even without giving it a look over alongside the criticism and all we should share different things like it’s drive performance comfort etc

Please elaborate on where/ what have they "invested so much money" in? booking cars through khokas in malls and other showrooms like they are selling paan, no dealer network, no 3s network and no factory in sight. The company has zero cost of exit and can shut shop any day. It's the consumers who will suffer!

No one is criticising "without facts". Everyone commenting here has a genuine interest in new players coming in and more choice for consumers. No one has anything against mg personally. Yes the car offers great features and would be a great choice for anyone if this was a normal company with basic business ethics. Reality is far from it though. Let's list down the facts you are looking for and the rest can add so we are clear on the shady practices that are putting us off about this company:
1. The Launch- happened at a small corner of a private used car showroom in karachi. And then malls in other cities
2. Dealer network- still no established dealer network in place
3. Service centres- Hardly present, below par and ill equipped. In case of an accident or major mechanical problem there is absolutely no way these garages can deal with them
4. Under Invoicing- already discussed in much detail and we all agree that there's absolutely no way the car costs what they claim it does on import documents
5. Still importing- the only company to be importing 100s of cars. If they're earning decent profit on these why would they ever localise and set up a factory?
6. Factory- nowhere to be seen. They've committed local production by June yet even the basic setup is nowhere to be seen. Or may be Afridi sahab plans to import an up and running factory with workforce and everything at once on 30th June?

What does he mean by plastic car. Nobody doubts the good build quality of MG. The company is acting very shady a fact that i admit even after booking one but their is definitely no doubt about thr build quality.
