Please ask the guy whose MG got accedented on Islamabad expressway, he has been waiting for almost 3 months now, while his 5.5 million are gathering dust at MG workshop in I9.

It's not just the car, also the local partner, very rightfully said. We said soooo early the signs were no looking good but some interpreted it as negative propaganda against mg just bcz they booked the car or bought it, OPEN YOUR EYES!

Give me a day or so.. I will share some more details.. For now a very high level executive reach out to me and was not happy about my Facebook post and the videos I shared. Although videos were already public.

We know the vehicles have delays and we can blame covid but then there is more to it. All these road side dealers have HS for 7 to 800k premium. They sell it and they get more units while actual customers are not getting it. There is rumor that MG dealers are selling to these road side 2nd hand dealerships and they have commissions on the premiums.

There is definitely some truth in this.
The number of MG keeps on replenishing at used car dealers, unlike any other crossover. I mean tucson or x70 is no where close to it.
I've literally seen ads and dealer floors keep selling while their inventory never reduces.
There definitely something at the back end. Either is all managed with the dealerships/company, or the premium mafia gets its delivery from ready lot/on priority

I have met 7 MG buyers in sialkot , and surprise suprise, all of them have bought their cars on own money. Upto one million more than the actual price.

This is criminal by MG pakistan , they are catering to showrooms and mass investors on priority basis but when a genuine buyer goes there , they put him on hold for as long as they can.

Our people are stupid , they are still buying the car for a stupid stupid price.

I had a 90 minutes chat with Mr Asif who is the GM Marketing for MG Pakistan and I shared each and every issue with him. He did agree that there are issues at dealers level. Again I don't agree that dealers is involved in the BS but the company don't know about it.

CBU booking was closed on March 19th via an internal circular BUT all these dealers still taking booking and in many cases full payment. Obviously then giving run around to buyers because the vehicles are not available. Covid is then blamed as excuses . I told Asif sahab why dealers are doing so and he said that he will check on it.

I also told Asif sahab there is a lot of things not clear . If someone have a booking .. no one knows when he will get vehicle, either it will be CBU or CKD .. overall a mismanaged show. Metro motors in Lahore is example. They have multiple HS and they keep on selling and then get more and more while genuine customers are facing issues. I believe MG dealers are first sure involved as like always.

As per Asif sahab, a test CKD groups of vehicles will be ready by June/ July. Commerical availability will by October November for consumer and initially to the bank lease customers only.

I am in constant contact with Asif sahab and I will update things as I know more in due course of time.

whatever the matter is, one thing is clear, MG is a hit if people are buying on 1 million own and dealers are cashing this truth. i hope MG Pakistan is not involved in it.

People are buying Wagon R on premium and not only that a decade old Honda City as well.

Without dealership joint venture it's not possible that multiple vehicle brand new are for sale at various generic dealerships and their stock keep on replenishing.
Unfortunately it's not just MG, every other brand have the same story.

Many people who are buying it already have sportage , people have a lot of money to spend apparently. But when you cant buy it from a dealership without any problem , you can only predict what the future aftersales and services may look like.

This is a dirty dirty business , showrooms are getting the cars from dealerships but not the genuine buyers. MG is still far behind sportage in numbers , sportage is still selling more.
