Uhhh these annoying problems keep pushing me towards a Sportage from an MG, and I don't even like Sportage

Could you clarify three things
1). How accurate is this news considering hundreds of cars have been clearwd from port just a few days ago and many more are being cleared.
2) Is the duty increase order final or can MG still challenge it
3) What would be the final price

am waiting for clearance GD copy for the 800+ units which landed between Dec 20 & Feb 21.

The vehicles which are registered for which some shared the evidence are not from Dec - Feb consignments. So far every MG i saw on roads & in parking spaces are having AFR 2021 ( fake ) yellow plates.

Excise offices in SINDH when punch in the GD code for verification of frame & engine numbers of MG HS, it appears as "GD invalid"., thus the registration is suspended.

Unless the cleared delivered non-registered vehicles pay the difference amount of govt revenue, by law such vehicles stands as NCP and can not be registered.

Registered in March but the Tax payment was done in Dec so the car must have been delivered between dec-feb. There were no march deliveries

As much as i hate MG Pakistan's super shady business tactics and they are def involved in a lot of fraud. I simply do not see any momentum in this case. Basically the case says that fbr did not recieve any document from SAIC on the pricing so they looked at the websites of other countries and thought that the car is probably more expensive all on suspicion. Literally one letter from SAIC stating it is for $11,362 and the casw would be thrown out

And that letter costed 1.2 Billions to JW-SEZ. The 747 vehicles were cleared in February under a Bank guarantee and that 1.2 Billion is already taken by FBR.

Obviously there is alot of game inside we still don't know. Such things create mistrust and confusion about the brand

All those who got their vehicles already are fine and no tax liability for them.

New bookings are closed so, the left over people are those who are waiting for their delivery.

I thinks between 3 to 500,000 can be expected in price increase. There are around 1500 +/- units of HS clearing now and all those obviously will be cleared at higher declared value. Now its upto MG. What they do.

Yes i am one of those unfortunate to have to wait for it.
First they didn't confirm to me on any written paper that the car will be CBU
Then they haven't sent me the confirmation letter and now claim the policy changed overnight and the pbo is the confirmation letter
Now this crappy peice increase
Legit an excellent car ruined by it's local partner
Every single day makes me legit want to sell my booking

Not really because the the new declared value is applicable to every other MG HS arrived since November 2020.

Any booking after 19th March will be CKD. CBU are earlier ones which are not slapped with additional duties

Yes but maybe just maybe the deliveries will be out of their pocket cuz when dollar decreased Javed Afridi did tweet that the benefit should be transferred to the buyer. The pricing 5,485,000 was made when dollar was 168 which is now 154 and i think most of the delays though did happen because of chip shortages they may have further delayed them for the lower dollar. Still surprised they haven't announced the price increase along with all the other announcements. Maybe the additional charges will be an Eidi gift.

I don't take Javed Afridi tweet very seriously . He has no official position in MG operation . I don't see any price decrease because of $ because on the other had they also say that the overheads have increased, increased cost of shipping/ handling .
