It is called Namda. Readily available with local denters. It is a rubber type of thing which they fix through heat

yes this thing is stuck to the body after lining the body with oil where this has to be fixed.. @Hitlersaab thank you. BTW is it any good.

Yes it is essential & all cars have this by default from the manufacturer. It not only prevents rust & dust but also reduces noise along with preventing the carpet from direct contact with metal.

As far as the updates are concerned just checked upon the car. The paint from the side has been removed. Was not able to take pics since with no light it was pointless. Denting on the passenger side has been started.. I will be going to shershah tomorrow to check for a new bonnet, door cards, it's original side mirrors, switches and some other stuff like coolant reservoir, ac equipment etc etc... Although I am think of installing an outside ac unit...

namda is soft felt blanket, its not stiff and cannot be melted, what you see is rubberized polymer sheet - you can buy similar from audio shops in Pakistan now.

dont use coaltar or similar, your car will stink forever.

I was thinking the same sir. Coaltar smell. The cabin will will smell.. and what u call this rubberized sheet... And what is the difference between using this and namday...

So i went to SherShah again around 12 noon today. and man that place looks like a heaven.... for cars. went to saeed bhai but he didnt have what i was after. There is guy named jawed who was asking 20,000 for a bonnet which was not in a good state. luckily Saeed Bhai told us of a scrap lancer of the same model as mine and asked me to check if the guy is willing to sell the bonnet and other stuff.
Went to that kabadia and the guy understood my problem and gave me the Bonnet for 3000 which also included the coolant reservoir in exchange of my old bonnet. i also bought this center console garnish from saeed bhai. the bonnet is in good shape need new paint and is way better than that 20000 one. A/C bit were not found but then again it is not a primary requirement. went to the denter handed him the bonnet. the shop closed today as he is not feeling well just came took the bonnet and closed it.
Had to buy a honda civic 2005 auto tranmission to friend and delivered it to the Honda Nazimabad. Now the pics:

Was not able to visit the denter today but did some work at home.. the reservoir bottle I brought today was filled with rust. Cleaned that by dipping it for half an hour in caustic soda and then cleaning with a brush... Also painted the center console garnish...

Good progress...... i told u earlier that buy a scrap car and use all the bits.....khair. Saeed bhai is a gem and helps a lot and guides well.

Namda is normally used in cars behind the dashboard to reduce noise and heat. u can see in pic as i had to remove dashboard of my car.

As for the coal tar, you can use rubbery sheets on the floor pans which our dentar called as "auto sheet " pasted on the floor pans. these sheets are available in market and i will let u know any link where u can buy these sheets. these sheets are way better than coal tar and works like original.

Also u can go to shop named "Soda Water Wala" near dilpasand shop on opposite radio pakistan. they deal in all kinds of rubbers, door rubbers, sheets etc.

U are very near to my home. i am in the next gali from this Mercedes guy shop. He deals only in Mercedes and i get my eyes feasted every time when i pass by this shop with lots of different variants of Mercedes daily.

I did took what ever i could from that scrap car for spares also. i also took the rear drums, fuse boxes and some other stuff all of which costed me 3000 more. The issue with the car was the changed engine and missing AC parts of which i need the inner cooling coil because rest in my car is fine.

Kindly do let me about the rubber sheet as i absolutely do not want to use coal tar as suggested by @Xulfiqar sb.

The moment i saw the blue one i was in Love i just had to stop and take some pics.. These cars are simply love.
