What else u took from the scrap car. i guess follwoing could be useful:

Plstic grill thats sits near vipers
Inner Viper rods that are connected with motor. Their ends are made of plastic and i guess they may have melted due to heat.
Rubber stoppers and bushes that are place on holes in firewall, from where all the pipes and electrical wiring passes from engine rooms to the compartment.
The bonnet lock.
The boot lid lock
The front grill

The viper grill of my car is thankfully saved so as the rest of the viper stuff. i did took the viper motor though.

i have bought all the firewall rubber bit almost all of them new from a "MITSU" dealer at plaza. Bonnet Lock is also good took the bonnet wire from the scrap car.

The scrap car didnt have the front grill and also had FX head lamps. it was in a pretty bad state.

my in laws lives near that place. when ever i visit them and took this route to saw many old mercs. hope one day i will catch that Blue one. Inshallah

So went to the denter again very late at night.. was not able to click alot due to darkness but he as applying the coat I gave him on the underside (left)..

So was at the denter's since morning... He has opened up all the seats and everything.. everything is very dirty and need a through pressure wash... The progress is real slow since the ustad is quite sick but still he has done something. The rear boot needs adjustment and inside the boot there are little holes which require treatment... Inside the cabin the majority of the rust is on the front passenger side. And there are some little rust spots on other places... But the man is saying he will get it pressure washed first then the true scenario will appear...

Front bonnet has been fitted and been applied with sand paper... He says he will use a grinder to buff the paint. The roof remains however...

So the pics now...

I took all the seats with me so I can give it to a poshish Wala of my choice. If anyone can recommend anyone plz do share..the seats were dirty and made my other car hell lot of dirty.

I and the denters took the car to get washed to see the actual condition of the cabin... Turns out it is not the bad at all. There are few sopt which require treatment... Also washed the engine bay the boot and the wheel arches..

And somebody's mechanic was ruining a Corolla by pressure washing the engine:

Good progress.....keep em coming. the comparmtent seems in better conditions.
some point to note as marked in pic.

1: keep the clips and bits safe in ur custody after removing them because these are hard to find
2: i think this is the duct that transfer the cold / hot air from ac unit to the back passengers. keep it safe as this material gets hard and will be broken when removed unsafely.
3: check all the rubbers bits and pieces like these which keep the holes in the compartment covered. safely keep them

and yes take brief pictures of the wiring inside the compartment so that if you remove it for paint then u can install back them safely. or keep the wiring loops covered before painting.

as for seats cover and carpeting, i can connect u to a guy who does excellent work and makes the original look a like interior whether it is an old car or an expensive Mercedes. he charges a little more but his work is awesome.

if u are willing to spend. he is not a normal car cushion maker as in the market are available. last year we had our car seats re manufactured by him. see the pics

I ahve taken in account all the clips, nuts and bolts and other little thing and brought them with me at home.
I didnt new cars as old as 86 had rear ac vents under the seats That is cool..

The Seats you attached look absolutely fantastic. do send me his address and contact. the fabric of my seats is fine needs a proper wash but the foam definitely needs changing. what do estimate he will charge for all the seats..

the sheet is called sound deaden er.. in lahore it is available with good audio shops...comes in Trent brand or other cheap brands as well

with self adhesive u just need to apply to intended area and it sticks there....

well todays update.

The sad news is the Ustad or should i say the owner of the garage who took my car as his last project Met with the maker of all that exists today he was suffering from cancer and was in quite a lot of pain.

So i hope for no progress this week due his funeral rights and ASHURA.

I hope the works continues as soon as possible the has been dented about 50% as far as i think where as the denter at the shop says it requires one 3, 4 days of denting work. i have already talked to them abput this and they said the work will continue. lets hope and pray it is so...

Please pray that the SOUL may Rest in Peace and my beloved is restored on time.

but bhai be vigilant as ur car is precious. keep an eye on ur car aisa na ho k barey ustaad k baad baqee k chotey ustaad mamu bana ker apki car ki progress lambi kerden and u end up with nothing.

That is the reason why i gave the car like 5 Mins drive from my house. I usually check the car on the way to and from office.

I am a little scared though. i have already talked to alternate painters for the job i am ready to just let them complete the denting and then take it to the new painter's which is also the same 5min distance away

Went to the denter's today the work is continuing on from today after soyem and ashura. Today they are working inside of the car and the rear bumper rack... Still a month is required....

so went to the denter's yesterday. They are working inside the cabin of the car. The Cabin is in good condition specially the floor. Majority rust spots are surface which will be buffed and spot which are rotten new pieces of metal is being welded. The diggi/boot has holes (it is a 30 year old car what can one expect) still not something incurable.

Now the pics:

The car requires atleast one more month to complete. Now my uncle has confused ,e between Regular paint and baked paint. What is the best option in terms of life and maintainance.

Baked paint is the way to go.

If you don't mind, could you share the story which goes with the car, as to why you hold it with such high sentiments?

Sir it is my first car, i have it since the first year of my university you can guess how have i traveled with it. There are 100s of people and thousands of stories but there is just this one Lancer.

Normal paint doesn't adhere well to surface, that's why chipping and cracking become problems. it also doesn't bead well and gets easilly scratched. Baked paint is much more durable, MUCH more, but is costly. Worth it in the long run.
