Thanks! I had to update pictures of the old steering and process and also installation airbag removal etc will try to find time soon, I already had wooden steering in the accord so liked the grip and new previously unexperienced texture of alcantara.

I don't have experience of a w202 so cant compare the suspension I find it very smooth even compared to the accord despite the Mercedes being on 17inch rims with 40 profile tires, some w203 owners say the same that w204 drives like a heavy car not sporty etc but to each their own each gen made a lot of improvements in its own way but yes engine wise hands down agreed the m111 better than the m271 which simply was not as well bade and the m112 miles miles ahead of the crappy m272 even if both aren't the smoothest and m113 v8 very stout too.

steerings are best wrapped in the new style microfiber leather - very grippy - wood is very slippery and not a good idea for steering unless you are driving a pinky steer caddilac from the 60s

Currently I have its engine covers on order from Shahnawaz, mine never came with them and I never got round to finding them either for the m111 so ordered brand new ones from Germany, it comes in two pieces costing me 37000 Rs for both.

I am talking about the silver and black covers next to the vlave cover in this picture

also the fuel rail end cap was missing I searched a lot cant find that thread here for some reason, the AC caps don't fit, ordered that new from Germany that little sucker is Rs 1500 too.

Its a metric threaded cap - not too difficult to find.

I see, well that is good to hear. I mostly use VIC oil filters. I want to order the K&N oil filters for my car and ask someone coming from the US to bring them for me.

You're right there nothing brand new from the showroom in terms of German, although one purchase could be considered new, it is a BMW active 7 that was imported with around 15k kms only, but once it landed dewaan went through with all the inspection only the AC gas needed refilling otherwise the car was perfect, it is a certified pre-owned though from a dealer in the UK.
But I understand that failures do happen, there have been many recalls of airbags, faulty transmissions etc. It is the way we are treated when we go for a recall to a PKDM dealer.

Petronas MB oil is now available in lahore not sure if there ias any benefit to it, until last year I always used Mobil 1 0W-40 (all services done by shahnawaz due to lack of time at my end) but since last year now Shahnawaz is only using Shell 5W-40 across all thier cars, the reaons they gave were inconsistent supply of Mobil 1 oil and in their newer direct injected turbo engines there were reports of oil consumption issues on that oil which I guess due ot heaver weight 5W-40 went away, they said it was duly tested and approve by HQ. I am runnign that since last two oil changes and I am perfectly fine with shell oil not only is it cheaper but i used to have a little chatter form the cam adjustor on cold start if left for 3-4 days lasting for about 1-2 seconds which now on this shell oil only lasts half a second.

I used this petronas oil in the accord, its 1750Rs per liter

the 450 SEL was having a R12 to R134a conversion since last three weeks nearly finished I don't know details but so many things had been changed

also saw this engine it is clearly from something vintage but I wonder what, like American or European car

lol there was also a blue Maserati Gran truismo which I couldn't take pictures of as the owner was there but it had a issue of misfiring and loud clattering noise on startup which they thought was something to do with the cam variatiors and the misfires were due to timing slightly out on both banks, apparently they were of the view its a common issue on these engines owner was pretty flabbergasted.

Don't know why Maserati Granturimso never really caught on compared to Mercedes SL or Porsche etc it was such a beautiful car inside and out especially in person but heard the transmissions not so good.

That ferrari engine in it needs ferrari money to fix. And from experience I can tell you that it takes only a little tiny oomph to strip anything on a ferrari casting.

They also are bastards when you try to buy a spare part. And it has a hilariously short service interval.

the transmission is the same 6spd ZF from BMWs - which I service with Ford Mercon SP (cheapo) - its failures are documented and proven too - they are not proven in Pakistan because they require advance level diagnostics to find the issue. They are not too bad to be honest.

to top the cake - its italian from a mess of other italian and some german parts. That doesnt sound good.

While the benz and BMW powerhouse tourers are stupendously powerful and have proven reliability.

this one was pre ZF I think was the F1 gearbox it had a comically small gear lever, hey don't make me feel bad about the ZF 6 speed in my x5 I serviced it with BMW original fluid for the ZF gearbox it was liquid gold Rs. 35000 for 8 liters yikes I thought you could only use ZF life guard or BMW fluid and I couldn't find life guard so used the BMW one, it doesn't even come in liter bottles Dewan had drums from which they gave me, I didn't do a complete pan open service on it just drain and fill twice after a gap of 5000 km it had 80k km on the odo was working fine so didn't feel the need to mess with it just drained sand filed at the appropriate temp etc, I do have its seal kit on hand especially 4 little tubes, the bridge seal and the mechatronics seal if I ever need it.

But I cant imagine having this Maserati worked on in Pakistan especially with the F1 box
