@All
Thanks , guys. I'm car crazy, so i'll probably be taking pics of the trashy cars you find in ny and prattle on about something or the other. I hope i get to Goa, before i leave. Kulu-Manali/Shimla is for the next trip.
continuing with the 'crazy 'car guy's workshop..
Lord, have mercy!. Look what he's doing to this Gypsy!
:d
This one is a rare car, though. It is a 1957 Standard Motors Herald Jeep, made in India. This car is specifically esigned for plantation owners, and the 'why' of left hand drive missed me. I liked this Jeep.
The only thing that got me was he had added his touches by modding it a little, like the oversized side mirrors etc.,
We also found this extremely rare 1926 Enfield trike that he has restored. He showed us email from collectors as far as Sweden willing to pay a lot of money for this piece. The original paint was rust brown, and the paint combo is his choice of colors. I like it (Y)
After a fun time at the workshop, it was time to drive back to Pondicherry for some food.
Driving in the town
Pondicherry is as good as my dad said it would be judging by the excellent pics(Y)
i look forward to going to south india(Y)

Sundays are cool in India. The same street on a weekday will wear an entirely different look!
walking to the restaurant
The restaurant had a thatched roof et al, appealing to the phirangs, who even at the time we were there made up for more than 70% of the guests!
Hmmmm well iv loved every thread(Y) all excellent coverage and great pics(Y)

Inside the thatched hut. The spaghetti with beef bolaignese was to die for. Washed down with some ice cold Fosters too.
After lunch , back on the East Coast Road back to Madras(Chennai). A few images of the ECR, before i close this thread.
