Haha... yes boss, have been there... faced it! Junoon k sath b bht kuch hua tha.... kafi zada tang kia usne... aur hamesha e kia, i had to learn how to treat her so that she doesnt mind... aur paise b khub khak hue thy..

At that time i was a student and totally felt depressed and devastated... woi baat ha, shuru men mein jab PWs pe neya neya aya tha tou yan ka mahol he aisa tha k soon i was anti-honda... i was all with piaggio and suzuki, but with time and experience I matured and realized all is not well with other brands and all is not bad with honda..!

Apni need dekh k bike leni chahye nah k fanboy-ism k peche... my need was A. Reliable B. Comfort got a deluxe trying to fill both needs... kam nai bna, got Cg instead at least point A is secured.

Still... i love it... but maintaining it is very demanding... and i cant give that much time!

I don't know why you people keep on saying that AHL is reliable than other companies, Reliability is not only limited to parts or mechanics etc. The most important part in this factor ( Reliability ) is the core product that they are providing and than the after sales part. Now i wanted to ask you what if you are driving @80KM/H and suddenly anything comes in front of you??? So in bike specialty which is fast the breaking factors is much important its a matter of your life, so drum breaks are definitely not enough for your own safety just think about this.... Now coming towards road grip which is most important for your safety, none of honda's user will think of it at the time of buying... And when we come towards the seat design and Shocks of bike which most important no one is gonna talk about these factors when they will buy a bike.... Most of honda users wll only see the After sale service (Parts, Mechanics) and they will say its the most reliable bike etc ....
Its all about Trade offs. So if you people wanted to see how reliable your bike is kindly mark all of the factors and do compare it with other product of same class and than decide how much reliable your ride is.

You are right. But it is also a fact that your commute is quite long and you could have benefited a lot from the comfort offered by GS/RP.

Bhai my job is quite demanding with often long work hours.. 6Days a week, sometimes Sundays on.. sometimes late staying in officew whole night... when new projects launch.... cant afford a demanding bike like gs is kay tou sirf rim sedhay karany parengy... uska pta nai kia kia sedha karana parega...

@auto man im totally STUCK. Cant buy gs cuz of quality issues, cant buy cg cuz of the vibrations. Dream suffers from vibrating plastic parts. Kya karun yar

Haha yes i know man... dilemma is there no doubt, again id say... what is ur need?

If u have a spare bike at home, then go for Suzuki/RP from any reputed large showroom... (since if it breaks u have a backup ride)if u want reliability then cg125 classic is the best...

When i say reliable i mean no major defects.. small problems might be there but those are in all new bikes such as:
Misaligned rims/ a fused bulb/ or ur odometer might start to mess up. but these are problems which are not big and does not give u any tension... specially in a honda cg/cd classic bike bcoz mechanics/electricians/tire shop guys are so trained on these bikes...!

So sit back, relax and calculate ur risk taking ability.. u can go risk averse like me, or take risks and associated rewards...

*sigh Let me ask this question. Apart form the usual "vibration, spare parts, broken tail lights or indicators etc issue", how many times did you hear of a major engine fault in GS150 or RP125? People say that Self Start is unreliable which is why AHL does not include it in its bikes.

So Automotorsport_Lover, when you say "keep a spare bike, incase RP/GS breaks down", you are clearly mistaken. Engine wise, all of these bikes are equally reliable. And i have not seen A SINGLE CASE where it broke down. So "reliability wise" all of these bikes can "finish a journey", just like your CG125. (Heck @silver_knife have done long routes on his RP125, and GS150 have climbed mountains) And there is still this dilemma that only AHL bikes are reliable.

A while ago, someone was facing "Starting issues" in his brand new GS150. Big deal. Minor electricity problem or a faulty rectifier. Making a big fuss about it like other bikes never faced this problem.

Once again i'll urge you to clear up this confusion of yours, that honda is the only brand reliable. You chose a CG125 because of spare parts issue ALONE. You have not even started to face any issues with this bike, and when you will (which you most certainly will), then i'll ask you to COMPARE these issues with your previous Junoon (plus the cost involved). THEN, if there is little honesty left in you, you will notice that CG125 is not only expensive to maintain, but it also demands "MORE" number of maintainence rounds as compared to your previous bike, and most probably "on par" with rest of the bikes in its category (like GS150 or RP125).

I dont know what makes u say that so confidently..! I have seen numerous engine related issues on all other bikes... honda has the least amount of those!

no use trying to change my perceptions... we shall agree to disagree, mera point of view mere apny experiences ki base pe yehi ha k CG is more trouble free bike than suzukis and Rps...

I have owned a small brand for 4yrs, faced and resolved all issues it had... have got khuar for getting quality work done for it(going up to 20kms away from my home)

and even had the chance to talk to kharadias and mechanics about it... i tried to obtain most unbiased views from them...

the fact is... honda sells many hundred thousands of bikes each year and yet u never hear it had some serious problem... suzuki and Rp sells a few thousands or hundreds... yet u come across sad owners quite frequently...

do the math.. the ratio....

what i want to say here is... theres a 50-50 chance of getting stuck with a bad Gs or Rp... so be prepared, dont risk all u have saved up to buy a Gs or Rp... at least own a spare bike for a few months after purchase... until u get sure that ur piece doesn't have any problem...

Suzuki/Rp with a blunder engine/chasis wont sell easily... and would really create trouble for u... however even a badly accidented Honda CG can be sold in the market openly within a few mins...

Mashwara amanat a bhai? Men kiyun kisi ko pareshani men dhakelun? Sari profits ki game ha... Smaller companies make several decisions each day to increase their profits which affect end users in a bad way just to ensure their survival... bigger companies dont have to that often.

Quality control ki sari baat ha.. and QC best honda ka he hai... its a fact! Yes i do agree with u to the extent that a perfect piece of GS/ Rp can have equal reliability and long life than a honda.. or even better...
But my argument is... how many of those bikes exist? We would have to consult owners... and many of them are angry! Not happy...

Read a recent thread about different grades of suzuki bikes sold... what u'd say about it?

Anyways... U cant change me(should neither try to) and id hold my stance so lets be happy like this!

The main problem is that after riding a Suzuki bike for more than a year my senses have become accustomed to a vibration-free experience. That coupled with minor things like ignition kill switch, spring-operated indicator stocks, and the quality of customer service (once u get it) is really unmatched on the current honda bikes. I want a bigger and more powerful bike now which has all of the above, and only GS fulfills that criteria. Am i prepared to take the risk? Yes, i already did when i bought a brand new Sprinter(which was discontinued after a few months). What im not prepared for is big problems like misaligned chassis/handle. These sorts of issues which cannot be repaired, im prepared to go thru some hassle of making the bike perfect. Owning a sprinter i can say that this is probably the most reliable bike engine in pakistan (no tuning, just oil and oil filter changes). maybe next to YBs, cd70 and cg125. Piaggio is off the table.
