you are living in rosy land - if such were the case then why did we not see the chiyaassi corolla go beyond 5 year service life? or what about the Nissan and Subaru sedans? Another class example - the mitsubishi galants and pajeros. All became scrap and - surely there was a way but no owner was willing to spend the monies as it gave them heart attacks just by reviewing the estimates.
People praise - that - "my JDM sushi is so amazing it has 8 air bags standard" - these same people then come back to ask for where can I get someone to get him/her some used air bags, detonators, control unit etc.
Most cars with such problems get the "bridged bulb" repair - in which the SRS lamp works alongside some other lamp - because surely there is a way to repair it - but are you willing to execute it?
Your adage works in a classic scenario in which cars have EOL - Pakistani vehicles EOL is non existant - they will keep using the car even if its a rolling heap of rust and welds because all that people care is about "lash pash finish, sexy shape, 100 km/litre, repairable under Rs 50/- by any goofball in any chakk and parts should be available plenty and free"
When I ask you about specific transmission repair (my speciality) you say that these cars never need them and every transmission can be bought from scrap yard - so lets take something here - lets assume you have no supplies of good used transmissions - would you consider repairing it or selling the car (it always happens in Pakistan, cars get sold from workshops with dead autoboxes when the bill is frightening)
