On the way to Mukteshwar we saw these beautiful Rhododendron Trees famous for Squash made out of them.

This temple is famous for the 'Ghantas' that people tie on the trees for making a wish, also featured in movie Vivaah of Shahid Kapoor

My new thread on my most challenging trip yet

India, Jalori Pass, 11000 ft, in a VW..in rains..the most challenging yet

This trip or if I can call it a challenge I took in the month of July when all through out the north India we have good amount of rains. It was challenging due to many reasons, firstly, because I was taking my newly bought VW Polo to a remote and tough terrain. The nearest service centre would be minimum 300 km away in the town of Mandi from the place we were heading to called Shoja, a small..a very small hamlet tucked into the lush green Himalayan ranges. I can't stop laughing on that on myself, I have traveled to the remotest Himalyan villages of India but have not visited Taj Mahal yet though I live only 2 hours drive from Taj Mahal. But soon will go there and share the pics. Thanks for reminding me by the way that I have still not visited India's pride. Actually I like visiting places which are less crowded and away from hectic city life but will visit there soon.

Usually it happens...in lahore, badshahi masjid, Minar e pakistan and shahi qila are the hot cake for outsiders...but most of the people in lahore (including me) hardly visited these historical places once or twice... GHER KI MURGHI DAAL BRABER...
