First of congrat on your new 4x4.
I have owned two Pajero Mini first one was 1997 model auto (3 speed) drove about 80,000 km and then imported 2007 model top of the line Active Field Edition Pajero Mini (Auto with OD)in 2012 with 38,000 km on odo it came with all books for car and navi unit, sold this car when odo reached 140,000km.
I loved this Mini Pajero, excellent pickup, wonderful road grip and handling and super breaks.
I took my Pajero to Kail in Azad Kashmir, twice to Naran up till Babo-sir-top , and also drove it in the desert (dune bashing) around RahaimYar Khan and the car never gave me any trouble. The total maintenance done on the car was, Disc Pad Replacement, Battery Replacement, Timing Belt and AC belt replacement, along with regular oil, oil filter, air filter and transmission oil change and plugs changed only once used iridium ones. The car is build like a tank. No suspension work, no ac service or gas charge no engine work required ever.
Yes you can drive it on Motorway constantly at 120km/h without trouble as i frequently traveled between Islamabad and Lahore on motor way on this vehicle.
You can use any synthetic 10w40 motor oil in it takes about 3.9 liters with new filter cartridge and 3.6 without filter change. This viscosity is recommended because of turbo lubrication requirements. 10w30 is not recommended for hot weather.
Please make sure you change auto transmission oil after every 40,000km and use only Mitsubishi DIAQUEEN SPIII automatic transmission oil. It uses only two liters of oil. This is a special oil with friction modifiers. Do not and i mean do not clean the auto transmission oil filter no matter what people tell you. As for this vehicle it does not require cleaning as its service life is 250,000kms.
For 4x4 transfer-box you can use any 75w85 gear oil GL4, Zic is good.
For the differentials front and back use any 75w85 or 80w90 oil actual is 70w85 and i dont think this is available in pakistan. I used Zic 75w85 GEAR OIL for rear diff. and it uses only 0.8 liters and it worked fine as i drove my car for almost 90,000 km in Pakistan.
Use only pure Hi-octane fuel in this car as this car is designed for RON 96 fuel which is hi-octane in Paksitan.
Never drive in 4x4 Lo range on tarmac or any other non slip surface. This mode locks the transfer-box and splits power evenly to front and back differentials. This is only meant for snow, ice, sand and lose mud.
I have a prosmatic honda civic 2014 but i still miss my pajero and so does my family as we had so much fun traveling in that car to the northern areas.
I hope and pray you and your family also enjoy this vehicle as well. Good Luck.
