Need advice regarding oil change of a Toyota Vitz 2012 in Peshawar

AoA, I'm a first time car owner and have near zero knowledge about cars.

I've owned it for about 4 months. Have driven it for 1,100 KM. 260,000-ish (ik) on the odometer. 1300 cc but it's a convert from 1000 cc and was done about a year ago (could be more honestly) by the previous owner — so I don't know if the 260K figure is for the 1300 engine or 1000 one.

The oil level right now is sitting right in between those two protruding dots on the oil dipstick.

From what I've read, I'm supposed to do a simple top up of the oil myself but I've also read that it's easy for beginners to pour way more oil than required and ending up creating a much bigger problem.

So, I have a couple of questions:

1. Considering the total mileage, engine size, engine change etc, should I go with 5W-30 or 10W-40 (I've been told to go with this one since my car has considerable mileage on it)

2. What brand of engine oil should I get? Total? Zic? Any other thing (apart from the 5/10W rating) to keep in mind about the brand while buying?

3. Where can I get it from in Peshawar, to avoid knock-offs etc?

4. I don't know what type and brand of oil the previous owner has used. Can I mix different brands and / or different types?

5. Should I do a full oil change?

6. Do I change the oil filter with a full oil change? Or does it depend on its condition (I'm assuming I wouldn't be able to tell unless it's really bad)?

7. There's a PSO pump close to me. Do I change it there (any petrol station) or some place else?

Anything else that I should keep in mind?

Any recommendations for good car mechanics in Peshawar? Maybe near University Town or Ring Road?

Which car?
First use 10w40 from good brands like kixx,pso,shell,castrol etc.
For geniune oil get from oil change places in ring road like zahid jamal or asif ali.Pso oils have verification code at their back to confirm originality.
As a precaution change oil with filter and also check air filter.Ensure proper working of pcv valve and check for leaks.

The dip stick doesn't seem too bad I would recommend 0w20 but engine health is not known. Both 5w30 and 10w40 are ok, but if the engine is going weak then 10w40 is better.
Don't do it by urself as opening the oil filter requires a large spanner. I would recommend you go to chaudry autos or japan autos in sadar, they have genuine engine oils and filters. Caltex have outlet in tehkal, that also good. On nasar bagh road there is a shell outlet having variety of products. Ring road have plenty of shops. Or go to any company operated shell or caltex pump, they will oil change for you, but ensure the filters they have are genuine. Don't use cheap filters.

I bought a premio 2008 recently.previous owner was using havoline 20w50 but it was supposed to get changed at
3000 kms max. I switched to kix 20w50 semi synthetic but now my car at cold start is at very high rmps and vibration in engine for first 10-15 mins even more but after you have deiven it for 30 mins rpm is pretty normal and drops below 1000.
Iam just concerned is this the right oil im using or should i change it ? Remember its odo meter is 260k +
Some one suggested 20w50 is not good for premio switch to 10w 40 fully synthetic from a reputed brand.need expert opinion.engine is same as grande 2zr fe

Some people are saying put in the same 20-50 from havoline which is non synthetic.what should i do ?

The engine seems 'fine' to me but I have nothing to compare it with as I've never driven any other car on a regular basis. The guy I know suggested 10W-40 because of the mileage (260K).

Geniune oil filters r hell expensive like 1200 or more and mostly filters available in oil change places are copy toyota filters.Personally I prefer guard filters than copy filters.I always have good experience of guard filters in corolla and alto.Guard filter costs 400rs.

Synthetics lasts a little longer but if u r changing oil at 5000 kms then mineral oil is completely fine.Shell and castrol 10w40 are synthetic blends.Good enough for 5000 kms while fully synthetic lasts longer.

10w-40 is also good, 5w-30 is better for fuel average.
Its just chaudry autos. Japan autos is also good.
Oil filter is around 1000. Toyota genuine is the one.

There is a caltex company outlet on university road near tehkal runway curve. Get your oils from that place to avoid counterfeit.
10w30 or 10w40 havoline is good if you want to go economical and want to change on 5k

5w30 havoline is expensive fully synthetic and beat suited for longer change interval.

If engine is decreasing oil go with the first option of mineral oil. Buy 4 litre can. Use 3.1 oil for pouring into the engine and keep the 0.9 for top ups.

Yes this outlet is pretty good. I am maintaining both of my cars (just engine oil/filter change) from here and so far never faced issues of fake stuff etc or bad/careless workmanship.

most likely the PCV valve is bad.
afterwards go for compression test.
