they did launch a turbo D4D version of the hilux. Im thinking they will phase out the 2.0D in near future since diesel corolla sales have fallen rapidly. they should take a bold step with the 2.0 D4D engine like suzuki took the chance with the new swift and efi cultus....

I'm getting GLI booked today as i'm tried for waiting of the auto altis version launch. As now they speak its going to get launched in April end or May but for sure not in March with XLI / GLI.

Though i'm really not interested in the Mannual Variant but since we dont have a choice of booking 1.6 Altis for now. This is the best thing to do if one has already sold his car . Still expecting that i might get lucky on delivery to swap it with 1.6 Altis auto, If launched with XLI/GLI ! fingers crossed...

just called toyota garden motors to confirm that whether they are booking altis or not they said that the booking is open for altis and 1 million is to be paid at the time of booking rest will be paid at the time of delivery they are taking money like this because they don't know the total price of the car if they knew they would have collected the whole amount at the time of booking and the car will be delivered in 1st week of April

Well I'm going to wait till the 1.6 Altis rolls out and then I'm going to buy it InshaAllah. Also guys, what do you prefer? Auto or manual? I've had a manual Corolla (GLi) for 4 and a half years now but I was thinking I should go for automatic this time... Although the only concern I have is that Civic has 5 gears and Corolla has 4 (automatic only). This means that 1.6 Altis auto will give me the same mileage as Civic 1.8 auto. So what do you guys say?

That other guy would be me. A 2.0 d4d would be more economical in the current chassis than the 1.4d4d, its a power:weight ratio kinda thing!

1.4 turbo d4d is more fuel econimical compare to 2.0 turbo d4d also 1.4 d4d is already launched on our current shape corolla in india n turkey while 2.0 d4d hasnt....btw our 2c diesel engine is 74bhp n 1.4 turbo d4d is 88bhp with better fuel economy than the old 2c engine...we dont need more powerful 2.0turbo d4d which is 140bhp n wud fetch the price more higher than corolla altis...
