the awkward moment when corollas highway fuel economy is a bit closer to civic's city fuel economy..
the only plus point in altis, i feel, are the paddle shifts and rear seat adjustment. and i personally think that having paddle shifts in a cvt is not fun at all. you cant judge v well when to shift, and i can tell that with my experience with crz. no doubt that crz is a really good car but cvt brutally murders the joy out of it. i feel that the only plus point of a cvt tranny that is the economy.
i think corolla we ll get cant be compared to the USDM corolla in point of specification performance due to the bigger and hence heavier body. maybe thats why the economy is so less and 0-100 timing is more compared to the USDM corolla.

Brother u cant expect more from indus as corolla is more used in rural areas gao ke log yehi dekhte he k bas ham cowrolla me bethe he and yyes corolla is also used in taxis so taxi driver doesnt need any immobliser ,climate control,airbag etc they want fuel efficiency and luxurious even we appriciate the efforts of induus motors as they change the shape every 5-6 years but we cant even excpect minor changings from suzuki eg. (mehran cultuus ravi etc) corolla will be hot cake in market soon and corolla's price is already insane

And yes as liana was failed due to extra features which cant be understoodd by our local ustads.our desi drivers uses a desi word (yeh computer wali gaari hy) computer= ecu. for liana and ccars which has extra features like immoblizer climate control etc so if indus offers advanced features which cant be understood by our drivvers and ustads its market will definetly go down in rural areas

Atlas did experimemt CVT back in 2004-2008 on Honda city by the name of 'vario' and 'steermatic'. The car's failed badly... Thus, they will not even think of introducing it, specially in a hotselling car like civic.

Considering that the most sold variant (or atleast most seen variant on the roads) is Prosmatec, CVT has a good chance now. It could always be added as an optional upgrade for Prosmatec variant but dunno about Atlas policies specifically with regards to this.

I will definitely wait for more details to emerge before forming a conclusive opinion but as things stand per the info given, Corolla is still not providing any significant competition to Civic yet. The lack of immobilizer seals the deal in favor of Civic.

Even Wagon R base model is launched with an immobilizer.

Unfortunately, over here in Pakistan these assemblers think seat adjusters, chrome grills, fog lamps and alloys are more important than airbags and abs. Airbags and Abs are now mandatory in many countries by law. fancy cosmetic items are not..

They are just playing to their existing clientele's priorities and preferences. As always, vote with your wallet to bring about inqilab... err.. change in company policies/priorities.

it so did not!! ive tried it, my friends tried it, and the best we got was 11.9-ish(talking abt auto tranny). and we got 11.9 when started it with shifting it to D after full throttle in N(i know its bad for the tranny, but had to try)
no offence or accusation intended bro. i can guarantee the result because my brother owns the car that we tested(indicating that i use it quite a lot).

Well here we go again....The Geniuses at Indus have learnt nothing from their Experience with Fortuner and Prius failures....Corolla will sell only in Xli/Gli Catogery where it competes with Honda City.....As for Altis it will be no match for Civic Specs wise, if the reports are to be believed....I fail to understand the reason why Indus wont Give Dual Airbags, Immobilizer and Climate control when their competitor does ....My Gut feeling is that Altis Grande will have these features but lets wait and see...I wonder if Toyota Japan realizes that Toyota Indus has brought Corolla Down from being a Competitor of Civic to being a competition of its lesser Sibling City....I dont think it bodes well for the recognition of the corolla nameplate after all it has always been a competitor of civic internationally...

if we people can buy a car worth 1.6m without ABS and Power Doors who will care about Airbags?

70-80% of corolla users are from rural side who even don't know what is ABS. So why Toyota will introduce such features in their products. And this case is very different for Honda. Civic and City is used mostly in urban area where people knows what features would be in a car.
