New honda city aspire - ac complaint & service centers

Dear All,

I am posting this thread just for awareness and unprofessional behavior of honda service centers; I own Honda City Aspire 1.5 M/T. It has been just 1 year & drove 30,000KM.. From day 1 i have realized issue of AC cooling on long drive, AC reducing air throw, cooling drops dramatically on long highway drives.. Although AC is working fine intercity.
Above complaint raise thrice in 1 year tenure and car examined by (1 time Gateway Lahore, 2 times Shahra E Faisal, Karachi).. Just today when i reached to Honda Shahra E Faisal for reported AC issue they refused to tackle issue under warranty with lame excuses..

1. Your car was not properly maintained.
2. AC service is due on 20,000 KM but your record show nothing for AC service. When i told them your maintenance document saying AC service due on 40,000 KM.. They responded YAHAN KA WEATHER SAHE NAEN HAI, TO JALIDE KARWANA PARTA HAI.
3. We will drive car to Hyderabad on highway to observe if issue exists with car AC or not!!!
   Simple case HONDA showrooms are looting people with expensive service charges and they have lake of expertise to diagnose root cause of issues.

I have logged complaints to HONDA Lahore, HONDA JAPAN and Shahra E Faisal service center quickly responded after pressure from Lahore! as per them AC TEMP sensor found faulty and replaced under warranty

Let's see how things works now on long drive.

Car AC throwing WARM air since Saturday 10th June 2017, I have delivered car to Honda Shahra E Faisal, Looks like symptoms of AC Gas leakage after SENSOR change on 8th June 2017. Let's see what output or excuses they are coming with!!

Just want to confirm, do i have to bear any expense; if any leakage happened after warranty claim / change of AC part under warranty?

They covered service, gas recharge and leakage fix in warrenty without any bargain; much appreciating!!!
It has been now 2 days and AC is CHILLED!!

Experience of Long Drive 17th July 2017

This seems to be cause of AC problem on long drive only!!

I am not sure 100 % but the same issue I felt too, Although not driven to Long routes but within city I felt that the through of AC went down . It just happened when I would have drive the car for almost more than 30 min. In the starting the AC works fine but gradually it's performance deteriorate and significance cabin temperature change. Although the air from the AC vents are not hot or normal. I drove the car with number 2 AC position.

Yes same case, you can further analyze this on continues drive to highway / motorway... dramatically airflow 'll reduce with no cooling..

There are other people who drive this car and have identical problem.
I often suggest that m/s pakwheels should have a team of legal experts who could raise these issues at an appropriate forum. Or may be there should be some way of incorporating consumer courts with these forums. Otherwise we share and lament and nothing happens. Dealers (mostly Honda) are not even bothered how their un ethical and un professional attitudes are making life miserable for hundreds of people driving their damn cars.

Keeping fingers crossed. You did a wonderful job. Please share the addresses of Honda, Lahore and Japan so that other complainants can also write to them about the insensitivity of Honda dealers.

same thing happened with my city aspire 1.5 mt when i went for 25k inspection and ask them to check if there's something wrong with my car's ac and they charge i think 7500 for ac gas and cabin filter change and after that everything working fine till now ..

Guys don't accept their fake reasons to change parts...! Make sure they are right by R&D to other experts in town and PAKWHEELS

They looted you bro.. AC filter is fine to change at 20k KM

Did you feel any different after 7500 expense on AC?

bro i don't know how they looted me but yeah there's very significant difference in ac cooling and fan throw after whatever they did to my car ..

As per my experience change of AC Filter (new) increase throw of air.. So keep your AC Filter clean each time when you go for car wash.

Which part of AC pipe in engine did they change under warranty?

They changed the Thermostat volve and other parts time by time... but this is manufacturing fault so, i am still used to it after even multiple tries from multiple 3S dealers.

Salam All. Hope you guys are doing good. I bought aspire in Jan 2019. Till date im not satisfied with its ac performance. I mean if i compare it with my 2008 model xli, its nothing. It feels same as of small car ac not of 1.5l sedan. I went to Honda City Sales yesterday related to the said issue. The representative over there checked and said the refrigerant gas is low. I said how. i mean its not even 1000km driven how it can be. Where is your QC department. Anyhow he top up the refrigerant gas a bit and said now its ok but i could hardly feel any difference. What i wanted to ask is, is the cooling of aspire low as compared to other competitors or its only mine which has an issue. It does cool but not as it should be. I dont have temperature gun with me right now but ill try to source out one and will share the photos of grill temperature. During the peak noon time one only can feel comfortable and not chilled type of cooling.

The ac of city is outclass, it cools in no time. I think the problem is with your city, go to dealership again and claim in warranty. Even if they say the problem is solved, go on a test drive with their person and dont leave the dealership until youre satisfied

I own an aspire 2016. In my opinion corolla ac is way better than city ac. Get a comparison with another city. Another good idea is to get the fault isolation from market then force dealership to rectify that particular fault instead of just topping up the ac gas.
