A 9000 increase from 1049 to 1058 seems as they have only increased the 1% tax amount and not increased on the other proposed hikes suggested from the 2010 Budget. (10% AC/3.5% Parts)

Why to buy old 3 years vitz.Swift brand new 1.3L with imported parts if suzuki is improving than why you dont encourage.Go and check quality of swift its not a typical paksuzuki.Its a hatch back than 2 4 cheaper than corolla city

Guys it is an established fact that toyota is the market leader in cars world over but that doesn't mean that no other company can make good cars and toyota will only make good cars.you should know that in last few years toyota has recalled 85 lac(8.5 million) cars world over due to quality issues and toyota CEO has apologized in public for this. Suzuki has made quite pathetic cars in past but swift is different. It is a hit the world over and even in euorpean countries it is very popular ,winning several car of the year awards. In india it is selling like hot cakes and has become the fastest selling car(selling 10-12 thousand units a month). Reason is simple that it is different than other suzuki stuff.I am sure that swift haters here don't own a swift, i have one and it is really great. It has all the features comparable with GLI accept the air bags and has more features than XLI,Honda city. Don't be biased and comment after driving the car for sometime. As for comparison with vitz, it has same features as vitz except air bags.There is a hell of difference in drive experience, swift is lot more torquier and more power. Try to have a race with swift and u will know the difference. 0-100 for swift is 11 seconds whereas even 1.5L vitz takes 13.65 seconds.

1 dual airbags ( now 2010 vitz have 8 airbags do u know )
2 drive comfort
3 build quality is much better than swift even all local cars
4 retracktable side view mirors
5 lcd players
6 front light adjuster
7 push to start optional many vitz have it
8 back view cam many vitz have which even dont have reborn

The 8 airbags, no Toyota Vitz car has them as standard.

All other things avalible in some cars have been added by previus owners. These are used cars not reconditioned car.
Once again, I own a 2002 Vitz since 2006. So ure the one who isnt acepting the reality, and defending ur Vitz. First with a Liana now with a Swift.

no offence bro. there might be a little difference in drive comfort, but i dont see anything known as safety and built quality that GLI has which the Swift doesn't... as far as GLI is concerned its SAFETY and BUILT QUALITY doesnt impress me at all (a swift has those features as well like ABS only); however, the thing which impresses me is its GIGANTIC size that after sitting in it, all local cars seem to be smaller in front of it and thats it man..!

Its true that Paksuzuki is building crap, but at least swift is something new....or at least the latest update from Paksuzuki.

Although I agreed that Swift is good but I still think that City and Corolla is way better and Civic is the best.

If we are talking about technology transfer, I will say that Honda is doing a great job, Toyota average and Suzuki the worse.

Why Honda is going a great job? Cos the civic and city in Pakistan is the same in japan and elsewhere.

Look at the rest of the models from Suzuki......Swift is introduce here in Jan 2010 but the world are now preparing to receive the new Swift.
My father told me that Mehran was here before me, and it is still very much the same car that is still selling.

^^its true one has to appreciate Honda for giving modern specs to Pakistani customers in locally assembled cars. Its not only Suzuki but cuore is also obsolete the world over now. Its not only the developed countries which have phased out these cars but all other countries (including other developing countries) have stopped using these cars for several years now as well. People sometimes equate Maruti 800 with Mehran but the truth is Maruti 800 is far more advanced and it has a totally different much more modern engine.
Even then, now Maruti 800 is being phased out from India as well.

Paksuzuki claims that its level of technology transfer is high but the problem is transferring technology of the 1970s with ZERO export potential is not something to be proud of.

I was astonished to read other day that pakistan is the only country in the world where suzuki cultus is still in production !!! In other countries it stopped production in 2004,(it is generation II suzuki cultus), its variant in india stopped in 2007.
Swift is a newer version which started in 2005 but came here in 2010, but still it is a good vehical with good quality and specifications which XLI doessn't has.New version of swift is still not for sale and will be on sale is fall this year, but it has no major difference with this swift.

The swift in Pak is facelift which was launched by suzuki global in 2007
