So today i visited Jamil Autos finally

Spark plugs replaced with new
Performed compression test. Here are the results.

Driver side cylinders

Conclusion.

5 cylenders are just near border line of minimum compression of 128 Psi.

One cylender (04) has leakage

Engine overhaul is recommended by Mr. Irshad (but not immediately)

I will focus on suspension and body work then go for engine overhaul as per budget. Anjum autos in plaza market has complet overhaul kit and rings piston available.

am not 100% sure but i think i spotted 1 Cedric in north Karachi Buffer zone area near Habib metropolitan bank - mobile market. it was on service road near overhead pedestrian bridge.
compression rating is at borderline., If you plan to overhaul, buy the complete overhaul kit right away and store it if convenient.

Later in Dec 2021 it may cost double the price of today. Currency exchange rate is already in taxi mode towards runway for another take-off

Only one concern, i hope that anjum autos provides me correct kit or else i wont be able to exchange at the time of overhaul.

discuss with vendor if it is generic overhaul kit for VG30 - S - Carb version engine., and a possible time frame for exchange of parts in xx number of days. (time frame plan for overhaul)

I called him at his shop number, he told me that kit is available. I asked him for an approx price range for budgeting purpos. He hung up saying "dukan pe ana parega"

Last night i experienced a trouble with car.. i was coming back from gulistan e jauhar. Engine temperature was optimal as can be seen in the picture.

Near my residential area my wife asked to drive the car (she is not used to for manual cars) after two, three turns she forgot to press the clutch while pulling over.

After that when i tried to start the car, engine did not cranked, the starter was not responding as if there was no battery.. then old Pakistani way "dhakka start". Came back home and tried again to start the car after parking.. no luck.

Now from this long story, i wanted to ask this might happen due to bad timing belt?????

If bad timing belt may also influence compression test results ?????

1st thing 1st check the specific gravity of battery electrolyte. Battery ground condition (to body shell & engine block). weak ground to engine result in starter taking load draining battery quickly.

what is history for the transmission fluid change & clutch assembly. Any idea as to when the pressure & clutch plate thrust bearing was changed.

Battery on charging. Tomorrow will get the gravity checked. Will also ask brother about transmission and clutch. Appearantly they seems fine

sir am nowhere to be tagged with the techies. my knowledge base is more of theoretical then hands on.

please check tappet settings for bad valve clearance resulting in loss of compression. Also please check if the cooling system have thermostat valve working or absent. The temp needle sweep is bit over cold side for me a 2 more degree sweep towards HOT will be normal for a V6 engine.

nice to see you got 1st hand experience with mr. irshad has he recovered from loss of father and running the workshop well. How did you find the working approach of him.

Just asking because on friday he declined to work upon a 2018 Mazda Carol returned the car. excuse was that sir new parts milta nai aur scrap yard k part ki koi guarantee nai hoti customer naraz ho jata bayiztee hamari hoti hai hai ap kisi dosri workshop par dekha lyn. He was polite to offer cup of tea to driver after speaking to owner (my family reference) on phone.

It was a fantastic experience, he did only what was necessarily needed. He has some sentimental feelings with these cars. He was happy to work on it as its blue interior reminded him of his father's cressida. He also shared the recent loss of his father.

For engine overhaul he was not very much interested due to lack of availability of parts. He was not comfortable with the parts available at Anjum autos due to some past bad experience.

He also assured me that he will arrange front shock mounts and other needed parts whenever he come accross with some at scrap yard.

After his work car has no vibrations in engine. Running smoothly with good mixture settings (water dripping from exhaust)

For test drive he took me to a place where another abondened Cedric was parked

When I was in school, I knew some kids who had 2 of these cars at their home. I don't rem the kids but I rem a family with 2 of these, parked outside thier home all the time.

Starter problem solved. The signal wire was somehow un plugged. (Reference picture from internet)

Sorry for being away.... Bit dis heart due to un availability of the headlight. Little bit budget issue for paint work... Most of all banks closing.... Late sitting in office..
