Delay due to rainy season. My apologies. Although i did wash the carpet and cleaned the seats. Will share pictures tonight InshAllah.

Complete denting and paint work estimate i got is 150,000.

Engine Block and heads are with leth worker for;

Head service including valves seats and guides and seals.
OEM Valves were not available in the market so custom valves made according to the size

Complete gaskit and engine seals bought + main, big end bearings + timing belt and rings (standard size)

Original pistons will be used with standard size new ring set. New over size pistons are not available.

Cylinder will be reseleaved by leth worker as there was play in original pistons

Crank will also be turned and 0.25 oversize big end bearings will be used

Oil pump will be serviced

Water body is in good condition

Belt tensioner will also be replaced.

Any suggestions, opinions regarding above process are highly welcome

did the mechanic just "feel" the looseness or used a bore gauge to see if the bores were shot? There is a specific clearance to be kept, and when dead cold the pistons may "feel" loose.

He just moved the piston with his bare thumbs to show the play of pistons. I have video recorded will share soon Inshallah.

Earlier in this thread, in 2021 it was advised by @uzeemujeeb @capsat to visit Jameel autos and get the compression test done.

Results were not very encouraging as the compression was on lowest values (130 psi) as per user manual (minimum 128 psi) even 01 cylinder were below minimum value (85 psi)

Car was also consuming a lot of engine oil and plugs were getting oliy very frequently.

So engine overhaul was already in my checklist.

Checking play with thumbs is a real novice move, what was the condition of the piston ring stack? Specially the oil control rings.

And how bad were the valve guides?

Just those two can explain a lot of the oil usage, a compression test only shows good if everything else is good, e.g. you can have a slightly worn valve seat which can cause a low compression number too.

Just something to keep in mind, buy or find the service manual of this and test/inspect it as nissan tell you and then repair as necessary.

Two oil control rings were leaking oil in combustion chamber. Valves guides and seals were also seaping oil. Further the 1st big end bearing was also worn off badly. Car has cloked 250k in Odo meter. Genuine mileage and was driven very roughly by younger brother as he learnt driving on this car

Please suggest engine oil grade and brand to be used after engine overhaul

for 1st oil change after overhaul at 1000 km use 10W-40 buy from Drum Rs. 950 per liter from your trusted shop, and onwards stick to the same grade. 4 Liter pack retail is 5200+
