Would you mind telling me how much did the import of the engine cost in total from Dubai? I am thinking of a swap in the future for my lancer and would not mind knowing the estimates involved. Also how is one sure the engine you are getting is not trashed already?

i didnt imported the engine from dubai, however only the lights were imported from dubai and that also in my personal luggage. i did not had to pay any custom or duty etc. other stuff which was imported from outside was imported by upgrade motorsports in lahore and i paid them the cost. details of the customs and duties are unknown to me. i paid the final total cost.

other than this, there are other means of geting an engine from dubai. if you know people in dubai or can go there, what you have to do is choose an engine you like and ask the person the total cost of that engine after delivering it to your city in pakistan. he will give you a quotation which includes all the customs or duties etc. some people just give you a cost regardless how they will take it to pakistan. some people bring it through a legal system and some through illegal system. for obvious reasons, illegal is cheaper but risky. and i will not recommend you that. go for Legal for peace of mind.

ASALAMO ALAIKUM BROTHERS,

first of all sorry for so late update, actually yes i was busy with the project plus my business and family matters. i hardly get time to sleep plus my 8 months old daughter now cries for me when i am home you guys can imagine. lol

well heres the update, it got delayed due to some fitting problems and few parts which i bought from some people here from pakwheels and they misguided me and sold me the wrong parts, so now i had to buy new parts from Driftmotion.com, the best service, price, and quality. so it came from CAlifornia USA. took a lot of time.

here are the pictures, today we will install the intercooler piping. the intercooler has been installed in its place. radiator, and fuel lines are in. 30Litres of petrol is gone in the tank. Electrician will today start the car. so pray for me and the car.

hopefully we will be on road in a weeks time.

Asalamo Alaikum Brothers,

well just got a little time to upload a picture, the customization was done today in the bumper to properly make its fitting with the intercooler, the electrician has started the engine, there were little fuel line issues, it had air in it so was troubling in the start. now its all ok. engine Masha'Allah sounds good. the front body setting has been done, and now rest of the electrical work will be started tonight. it shall take two days to complete.

finally the project is coming towards an end, to start a brand new life on roads.

Latest update, ( all the technical guys can help) (electrical issue)

well the engine wiring has been completed and its firing up properly. but only starts with WOT( Wide Open Throttle), and as soon as you leave the throttle it dies. changed the plugs, serviced the throttle body, put a new MAP sensor. when i was servicing the throttle body i came to realize that there are two controls on the throttle for the butterfly to open. one with the manual wire which is connected with the accelerator pedal, the other is with the TPS(Throttle position sensor) sensor. now when i open the butterfly manually it doesn't open until its fully pulled back, and as soon as i leave it, it shuts off completely shutting down all the air flow and hence engine dies. the TPS i suppose or any other mechanism in the throttle is not functioning right which enables the throttle to stay open for the engine to stay alive and stay under 900rpms.

this is the only problem holding me back from moving the car out. also any one can confirm me if the 1jzgte VVTI engine uses MAP sensor or MAF sensor, or Both?
