its a ETCS-i throttle system, which has two Throttle sensors. one sensor is attached with the Drive-by-wire and one is the Throttle position sensor. when you press on the accelerator it gives the signal to the ECU about the accelerator position and the ECU then gives the signal to the TPS and the TPS motor which opens the butterfly according to the accelerator pedal. now this mechanism in my engine is not configured properly. need wiring help from any other pakwheeler who has got rid of this problem.

the 1jzgte vvti with drive by wire system is late model jzx100 and jzx110 engines.and are basically a pita to get running right with this dbw crap.easiest thing to do is get a jzx100 ecu and throttle body which is non drive by wire and use that.or u can get a accelerator pedal from a jzx110 and some electrician can do his magic and it will all work.i cant explain how because im really bad at electronics.
and the 1jzgte vvti uses a afm and not a map sensor.for each and every toyota part number for what u have and what u need consult www.toyodiy.com

its an ETCS-i throttle system. the mechanism here has two Throttle sensors.

1. throttle sensor, which is attached to the wire connected to the accelerator pedal.
2. throttle position sensor, which is attached to the butterfly.

when you press the pedal, the throttle sensor sends signal to the ECU about the angle of the throttle you are pressing. in response the ecu sends the signal to the Throttle position senor to the butterfly motor which enable the butterfly to open according to the pedal position.

now, the problem i am having is that its in limp mode. that means, either of the sensor is not working.

any other fellow pakwheeler has gone through this problem and resolved it, please help. would highly appreciate.

isnt there an option where i can just have the drive by wire and that controls the throttle? and to control the idle it has IACV?

i have one more engine which has the other type of ETCS. which has two butterflys!!

Troubleshoot the TPS and the throttle motor, stick to the etcs-i for now, get it stable on this only.
After youve done so, move on with a ETCS-i delete, where you'll basically be getting rid of the dbw/fbw.

The pedal feel of a mechanical is just brilliant, apart from that you move away from the mess and I'll recommend you the dbw if you have a good electrician only

incredibly last night met 2 friends both running 1jz vvtis one swapped and one a genuine jzx110 and both have the same issues.

I am also having ETC issue in my QG18DE which I recently swaped in my B12. Why Nissan make things so complicated. I am trying to calibrate the ETC (IAVL) but no scanner is completing the task till now. The RPM is idle at 1200 Rev and the engine is draining the fuel like baap ka maal hai.

Asalamo alaikum brothers,

i have gone through so many forums discussions and all of the people just recommend a solution to weld some part in the throttle body which enable the butterfly to operate with the pedal directly, and make some electrical jumpers to fool the computer for the codes. i will try to find the easy one and post the link here. but it makes sense.

one more thing i read was to calibrate it without opening. it said to bring the throttle to WOT while the switch is on off, keep it in WOT and turn the key switch to ACC but do not start the engine and keep the throttle to WOT for 30 seconds and switch the key back to off. then release the throttle and start the engine. this will enable the computer to re-calibrate the TPS data coming from it and making the rpms correct.

i have not tested it but lets check this too.

actually the systems are not complicated, the problem is we dont have the right ECUs for the engine we use here. the ECUs in the market here are all for the auto setups and we use them with the manual, plus many ecus just have functions to control just ETCS throttle systems rather than the ETCS-i . first we have to verify if the ECU in hand is ETCS-"i" capable or not ?

the ECU i have is 89661-3A660 . i am trying to find which engine and throttle setup it is intended to work with from Toyota.

This will just reset the TPS, not the throttle motor
You'll still be facing the same issue

I have a Intake Manifold for Sale including the Throttle Body. It's a TRC Throttle Body which works on the accelerator cable and TPS. I don't have the sensors with it.
Delete the IACV and you'll be happy.

the ECU i am using is the ETCS-i compatible. using some other throttle body with this ECU will just give me codes. for your TB and manifold i will have to change the ECU as well.

I have a JZZ30 ECU and I'm not using OEM Intake manifold. It works without any problem.
Infact I'm using a 100mm Throttle Body and IACV Deleted.

by the grace of Allah Almighty, i have taken out my car, and drove it for the first time ever. well obviously it was not as smooth as it should be but Alhamdolilah enjoyed a lot. its gone to a electrical workshop for all the rewiring of it, which includes, all gauges and electrical wiring of the cabin and lights and ETC.

i am still thinking of whether to put AC in it or not? it will be impossible to drive it in the coming heat season without AC. what do you guys say?

the bumpers are yet to be painted, as i wanted everything to finish and paint the bumpers on the last moment. will release a video of it after it has been tuned on the Greddy emanage completely.

BTW blow off valve per jo smile ati hey uska apna he maza hey.. i just loved the BOV sound.. chuss ss ss ssssss = pure mazay..
