Nissan Sunny B12 (1987) Restoration

Hi everyone,

This sunny is in my family since 2000s
Car was not used much and is rusting from all corners. (Because I live near Seaview, Karachi)
Now I am restoring this car and I want your opinion on where to get all work done.
First I want the engine to get checked because it was replaced from 1.0 to 1.3 in 2016~17 and it was not maintained well. Oil was changed only 3-4 times in all these years. Then I will get suspension done, will replace power steering from hydraulic to electric one because its pump is very bad and imo electric will be good.
Then the Denting and painting will be done.

So should I go to those shops who do all work from mechanical, electrical to denting painting under one roof or I should get all work done from different shops.

Please let me know about those shops who does all work themselves and also suggest me good shops that are experts in:

-Mechanical
-Electrical
-Suspension
-Power Steering
-Air conditioning
-Denting painting

As this is my first car to restore so please suggest some good mechanics in Karachi.

pay a visit to shershah during day, this model nissan car body parts are available in abundance. simply replace the parts and get patch work done. repaint the car only after scrapping old paint completely. @sayedarsalanali @nnabeel can guide you for body shop work

engine compression test tunning rebulid can be done by jameel autos 0300 2237538 (society office)
electrical restoration can be managed by abid hameed 0333 2201002 (preedy police station)

@ssbhanriaz based on my experience I can refer you to the denter who did body work for my 120Y in Gulshan e Maymar, but as you live near seaview I can recommend you a workshop in Korangi (near driving license office).

Afzaal bhai quoted me estimated 35k for suspension, shocks, wheel bearing, etc. Steering rack will be replaced with kabuli.

is he offering some kind of warranty for the whole job. Do try to negotiate a bit, cross refer PW., & see how much he ease off, though the digit figure seems ok.

Scrapyards have become jewelry shops these days you can look and ask but dare not buy unless extremely urgently needed.

What about body parts, did you ventured to Sher Shah for parts by chance.

Yes he is offering warrenty and he said that he will try to get the cost as low as possible. As for body parts, I am still looking for a good denter near my home then as per his advice I'll search for specific parts.

While the brake discs are off, ask afzal bhai to turn them as well. he gives this servcie to special references like from pakwheels.

get a good antirust black coat from Zubair impex, ask afzal bhai to spray the khenchi and other stuff before installing.

Well I got the car home last night at 12 am. I asked one of his mechanic to turn the disk but he said there is not material left to turn. So I'll replace disks and service all breaks.

Here is the final receipt. He asked me to come back next week then he will adjust alignment and ride height.

He will also talk to some denter and painter about my car near preedy street.

For now I have to drive for 100-200Km because new parts have to settle in to their positions then he will recheck.

@capsat do you know any excise agent because this car's tax is not paid for the last 10-15 years and engine number is not updated and I also want to transfer ownership.

there is guy name Kamran 0300 3537421 call up with reference of rizwan computer equipment in regal computer market. he proved trustworthy for few members.

you can discuss your vehicle registration documentation related issues, govt charges for which he will provide receipt and his service charges on top it.

do bargain with him, he provides point to point service.

Project was delayed because of some problems. But I'm restarting the project. This time I'll be replacing the engine first, for that I need your advice on which engine should I opt for?
I've 3 engines in mind:
QG15DE
GA16DE
QG16DE
Which one of these engines are worth swapping?
I only need good petrol average with some performance improvements aswell.
