Nokia announces 808 PureView:41-megapixel camera Phone Belle OS, 4-inch display, (!)

Remember that Nokia PureView tease from a few days ago? Well, suddenly it all makes sense. We are indeed looking at an imaging flagship phone and a true successor to the N8. It's called the 808 PureView and it's expected to reach Europe in the next quarter for a price of 450 Euros. Before we move on to its craziest feature -- the camera, of course! --
Now that Carl Zeiss-lensed camera: it handles continuous-focus 1080p, but is claimed to have an incredible sensor resolution of over 41-megapixels when shooting stills -- or 34-megapixels for 16:9 images. It's achieved by some clever sub-pixel interpolation jiggery-pokery that entails five pixels being merged into one to produce a smaller file size.

i would suggest that read about it to get to know what has been done and check the sample images first and yes it is worth it ,

why everyone hates symbian i fail to understand ,they have changed it it is the most power efficient os it is the most user friendly os , not that i m a fan boy or i hate other os's but it isnt that bad at all

Nokia actually going towards <<<< from last many years now they are just attracting idiot users which we have in huge amount... add 41 MP Camera in the phone lol... now let me tell you... whenever anyone will buy this phone take some shot... and if anyone have DSLR Camera just 14 Megapixel he or she will also take some shots we will compare both... i bet .... DSLR 14MP picture will far far faaaaaar better then any mobile phone 40 50 60 100 MP Camera picture!

I don't hate it. I still am using two Symbian phones. I agree it is power efficient and user friendly, but they need to develop good apps for it. You feel you made a wrong choice when you buy an expensive Symbian phone and have limited number of "useful" apps in the OVI Store whereas someone with an Android phone is having all the fun. Smart phones today are more than just calling and texting.

But in the end; Nokia forever!

East or West; Nokia is the best (H) I revived my N97's broken touch screen in just 1000Rs from a road side shop at walking distance from my home; unbelievable...N97 is still the best email / sms phone!

Yes Strongly segguests that see the sample shots they are indeed very good not what we expect from phones atleast

@raxor bro no one is comparing it to any DSLR as everyone know what is going to be the result of the images between these two . but credit should be given where is it due and i think that nokia did an amazing job with this and credit should be given to them for that ... take a look at the samples please
