One day trip from Islamabad to Swat in December

I want to visit Swat in a Day after newly built Swat expressway. Is it feasible in a day and is this a good idea to go there in December 2019.

Swat expressway is awesome. Enter M-1 exit capt col sher khan interchange and you will be on swat expressway. Road is excellent. One day trip is feasible but not recommended. Stat atleast one night there go till bahrain, malam jabba and for that a night stay is recommended.

First of all tell that why you wanna go sawat for one day only?
If this is for official purpose then stay at Swat Continental Saidu Sharif Road.
If wanna visit then stay at Bahrain Continental at Bahrain.
Rest is upto you.

Thanks for the reply. Want to just have long drive stay there a little maybe dinner and return back. I have heard the newly built motorway is beautiful.

Aoa all, i am also planning to go to swat ( malam jabba and kalam) in january end, i'd like to know about road conditions of malam jabba ? Is it completed ?

All roads to kalam and malamjabba are completely carpeted now as of December 2019.
Anyone can go but these places will be covered with snow so better take along all the required things.
I myself don't like snow too much cold for me.

I have been there on 20th of this month and roads till kalam bazar is 80% completed however, 6-7 places where bridges are there will have to be completed which are under construction.. and roads on these places are not suitable for low clearance cars..so please decide accordingly..

There is a lot of fake information on the kalam road.

Many tour companies and locals of the area too spreading fake information that road is completed and carpeted.

FAKE NEWS

It is only 70-80% completed - visited 1 Jan. DO NOT GO ON YOUR OWN CAR. The rough patches will totally ruin and rough up your suspension.

That 30% unconstructed part is on very very bad areas, mostly bridges, and extremely rough where a sedan should NEVER BE TAKEN.

Unless you have your own 4x4 SUV, or rent one locally do not go!! Because that 20-30% rough patch is unimaginably bad.. not meant for cars.

Yes, that 30% patch is so freaking bad it will ruin your car.

Kpk govt too promoted fake news that it is completed when it is not.

It is still only suitable for SUVs who do not worry about ruinning their suspension and shocks.

Extremely bad condition in those patches. Rest is carpeted but the bad areas will ruin a car .
