And if you ever plan to convert it to manual as i just read, you can put in 3SGE Beams 6 speed manual (from Altezza).

Out of all the options, I would personally go for the 3S-GTE. Bolt-ons are a-plenty. You can go up to around 400 bhp without opening up the block. It's lighter than the 2JZ, 1JZ and their turbo relatives. Being a 4-pot, you'll have enough space for a good cooling system (although the stock rotary cooling system should be good too, rotaries are notorious for heating up coolant), and a good intercooler. Soundwise it'll be a bit non-descript of course, but hey, a snorting turbo and fluttering wastegate are as cool as N/A induction roar. I've got good experience with a 2JZ-GE VVTi and a 1UZ in the process, and I wouldn't recommed either for the RX-8.

No i wouldn't go manual. I already drive a manual swift. Thats enough gear shifting for me. And i'm gonna have to source those cards. They're stolen. I noticed that even the radiator tubes are cut and not disassembled properly.

a clean , 13B-REW in my opinion

I have seen my friends 1jzgte rx7 coming back on 13B-rew and its worth it.
Less weight and not loosing traction at all. F20C might be good but cost and availability is in question.

go ahead with any 3s series engine .3sefe is the most commonly swapped engine here in mithukhan k hate.have seen 3-4 swaps my self.

had a chat with the owner of one of vehicles according to the owner he swapped rotary with 3sefe and was more then happy.everything was working including ABS,rpm meter,ac and the flappy peddle gear box.
and the best thing was that 3s produces 135 hp and costs only 40k with complete wiring + saman

RWD Nissan VQ35

lightweight and powerful. Its short too, about as long as a 4 cyl but wider.

Other choices - Mazda FE. (sweet engine)

The 4GR commands a very high price locally as those people who buy it (Mark X owners) have very deep pockets. Plus the oil pan configuration (front sump) won't work in the RX8.

If you want something trouble free that your younger (and I'm assuming not-so-auto-savvy) brothers can drive, I wouldn't even recommend a 3SGTE. Any turbo motor can produce a lot of power quite suddenly and that's an accident waiting to happen in the hands of an inexperienced driver. Go instead with either the Blacktop, 3SGE, or 4SGE (3SGE's big brother 2.2L).
