Owners Review: New Suzuki Alto 660cc PKDM 2019

forgive me if I'm asking a stupid question.....
As many other cars, This car also don't have engine temperature gauge, so is it safe to take it on long routes , because the indicator will only turned on after car is already heatup....
What if the damage is already done????
For example once my cuore's radiator got leaked and I didn't know about that, when I was driving I noticed the needle of engine temperature gauge is going up.....I stopped on the side and very carefully opened the bonnet and found the leakage of radiator......I filled it with water and came back to home and Installed a new one , no damage done to rings or gaskit etc ........
So what's the procedure if a car don't have engine temperature gauge, how the engine heatup indicator works????

The temperature light turns on when the temperature rises a bit from normal.

I have a question that does this alto has a separate fan for the AC r a single fan for both radiator and AC function ?
Secondly , How's its suspension. you know all about huge bumps and potholes on our roads. hows it performing in this segment.

How is the Performance of A/c in this Summer? Owner can confirm does it heat up during afternoons, I remember mehran temperature gauge used to cross half mark. Is that issue resolved?

I don't understand why the comparison with Mehran? It's a completely different car and comes with all the bells and whistles of any bigger car we have here just like the jdms we see here. Its a JDM being built in Pakistan now so yeah take it that way.

Comparison with Corolla Gli (urf waddi gaddi) in power to weight ratio: Alto has 54Hp engine ( I am assuming that PS specifications on brochure are plain wrong) with 650 KG kerb weight whereas corolla has 83Hp engine in 1275 KG body. Result: Alto is better when it comes to power to weight ratio.

Yeah... Comparison of Mehran must be done with Mehran only as this is the only car left with 90's design.

Comparison because it is the replacement for Mehran not for JDM alto or Cultus, Mehran was the entry level vehicle of Pakistan. Now Mehran isn't being made anymore but there are alot of curious Mehran owners like me who bought Mehran over JDMs because of spare parts price and reliability and are now willing to "UPGRADE" their commute vehicle to Alto. So please, before being judgmental , i think we should consider the fact that a JDM/X/S/Turbo RS owners will not buy this car but owners of Mehran would because that segment of buyers is the only one who hasn't seen/witnessed what modern and advanced technology can do (such as not crawl like a turtle on AC)

Well, actually many jdm alto owners are interested in pkdm version of alto because of:

1- Availability of manual version
2- Better AC
3- Better ground clearance

Lol thats a first , Pakistani variant having something above JDMs , the way people have described JDMs is no less than what they call "Perfection", anyway, even if there are , thats a less population than the owners of the Mehran, since it has been passed from generation to generation, for example, when my father got married, he owned the same white Mehran i have currently (2015 version Euro II) except that his was 89 version

Could not agree anymore. Previously Mehran/ Cuore were entry level cars, now this Alto is, and for heaven sake its a 660 cc Kei category car, should we start comparing it with 2.4l Camry as everything is designed to work perfectly.

The question to owners is very valid, is it worth upgrading to Alto for a mehran owner or for people like me who want a small decent car only for daily home chores is it worth it.
I'll appreciate if an owner can shed a little light on
i. The actual mileage of the car.
ii. Performance of A/c in this summer
iii. Heat gauge light blinking in this weather if any.

short answer: yes. Alto is currently best buy for money in locally assembled cars

in the review , the author of this thread has added FAQ/Frequently asked sections, you can see my questions asked above , he answered all including jump/bump performance and A.C performance as well and you can expect up to 28Km/L on A.C if you drive it like a sane man and not throttle it like a race demon

Suzuki Mehran probably debuted in the late 80s to early 90s and this car debuted in 2015 in Japan. We kept on producing the same vehicle for years with the same technology where as the world took giant leaps in the automotive sector. Cars heating up with AC is an ancient phenomena which ended up with Mehrans(especially carby ones) ,Khybers and 86 Corollas( no offencre to owners)
Lemme clarify here, this car is actually a replacement for Suzuki Alto which was discontinued in 2012 . It's not at all our dear Mehrans replacement.
In reality, Mehran was an Alto as well when launched but PakSuzuki named it as Mehran and kept it as a seperate model in Suzuki's lineup. They relaunched and upgraded the Alto seperately until 2012 and then stopped making it.
The Alto we had never heated up with AC and had excellent cooling as well and this car being the latest generation Alto cannot whatsoever be 'Heating up' with AC. So please, don't compare this car with a Mehran which was built years ago.
And, i own a JDM 2013 Alto which also came with the R06a engine coupled with a CVT transmission but i am planning to shift to PKDM Alto. So, anyone can be a potential customer for this new Alto, it's not just Mehran owners who can think about upgrading to the new Alto.

Khyber does not have a heating problem at all.
A faulty car is another thing. If faulty, any car can have heating issues.
Secondly, a comparison with Mehran is very much justified because no matter what people are driving in other countries, we have access to cars available in Pakistan only. Previously Mehran (Alto 2nd Gen) was the cheapest car from Pak Suzuki and now this Alto although both have a lot of differences because Pak Suzuki skipped all the in-between generations.
