By Vacuum Leaks, I mean the air piping in the engine, go look at your engine bay patiently and you'll see, that there are three sets of pipes. One set is thin pipes, those are the fuel lines, the medium sized ones are the vacuum pipes (Air Pipes) and the large ones are cooling pipes (Radiator Pipes). Check if any of the air pipes are leaking/cracked/soiled/unplugged. You can check for leaks by getting a Carb Cleaner spray.
Start a cold engine, and then briefly spray over each vacuum pipe, if you find a leak the RPM will change instantly and you'll notice, if no leak is found in the pipes, the leak could be in the Brake Booster, to check that grab a plier (Plass ) and squeeze the air pipe going to the brake booster, if your RPM changes the leak is in the Brake Booster.
Now that this is out of the way, unfortunately my CEL hasn't vanished, I've been busy so haven't been able to give the car any time. I've personally checked the Vacuum pipes by the above method, I found no leaks in mine which is more of a disappointment than a relief, cause this problem is still a mystery. as for the situation, let me describe my car to you, since we both own the same thing.
The car looks absolutely perfect, as you can see in pictures, works flawlessly, no hiccups, no hesitation, no misfires, no weird sounds, nothing at all. Everything is perfect. The only problem, is that it gives a CEL with P0130 Oxygen Sensor Circuit Malfunction Bank 1 Sensor 1 code, and gives 8-10km/l fuel economy, which I know for JDM Swift is bad.
Now, that we both have the same car, the same problem, and the same circumstances, let's tally upon what we've mutually done.
I have:
1.Ordered Brand New OEM sensors, and replaced them.
2.Checked Spark Plugs.
3.Checked Catalytic Converter.
4.Checked Fuel Pressure.
5.Checked Exhaust Leaks.
6.Checked Vacuum Leaks. (Personally)
7.Car scanned and codes cleared multiple times.
8.Gotten routine maintenance done (Oil filter, Oil change, Air Filter, Transmission Fluid Change)
9.Checked all the fuses.
10.Mass Air Flow Sensor cleaned.
and still the CEL hasn't disappeared.
What's left to do:
- Get Vacuum lines checked by a professional.
- Get entire Wiring checked by a professional.
As for that 5K guy, I have no idea what he will do. But I don't plan on wasting 5k when I won't even get to know what's being done to the car I drive everyday and my family uses.
One more question, does your car exceed 5000-5200 rpm when you floor it?
