I have been able to read only some of the comments posted in this thread and thought to include some of my input as well.
1) Creating such a Tablet is not a big deal. If it has been originally created by PAF then they must have used Arm Processors manufactured by an American or European company. They installed Android OS on it which is not the Invention of Pakistanies and 99% of all the components are either chinese or foreign. They assembled parts together and trying to sell it in market to earn dosh..
2)Yeah certainly, Avionics i.e the control of Ailerons, Rudders,etc using electronics control systems which process human orders or inputs. There is nothing dramatic about it. The real technology is in the smart bombs. Like cruise missiles which read terrain, heat seaking missiles, laser guided missiles, satellite guided bombs, satellite controlled high altitude cameras which can see your pet in the backgarden. The embedded system applications used in this tablet could have been learnt by weapon technology at camra etc but the Application is wrong.
3)Pakistan airforce has to emphasize on Precision Technologies. Look these guys still have to go to Turkey and similar to upgrade their aircrafts and are wasting their energies on creating silly tablets.
4)Only High Level Command will know why are they venturing into consumer market. If this is to generate funds to support the future research like the ones i mentioned above then there is nothing wrong. I am seriously against pakistanies spending billions of foreign reserves on stupid phones, computers, batteries and even needles. We have to support our own manufacturing sector and place a ban on luxuries which even are not allowed as being Muslims. A true muslim lives simple life. And that is Seerat Taiba.
5)If airforce/Forces/ISI stay reluctant learning new technologies like manufacturing high grade multilayer Pcbs, components, Integrated Circuits & Processors/memories, batteries, operating systems competetive to android etc than they will keep paying billions of dollars for slight modifications of their equipment. Drones are the current technology.. who cares about petty pilot controlled planes anymore...and if war errupts they will be made impotent like Iraqi army in a few hours....and remember India either has already accomplished all these technologies or is working on it..
6)I am strictly against Importing Electronics from foreign countries...If airforce has taken some steps and the Niate is to support it's research in weapon technology than there is nothing wrong with it. But the profit should go to the forces and the research that is being carried out. Forces have no right to leap into consumer businesses alone. We need import ban on mobiles and luxurious items like HD tv, cameras, expensive lights etc...as pakistanies we should support our locally manufactured products but only if it capable enough....and it's the job of mr 90% and his team to prepare such roadmaps..
7) Armed forces are the only remaining few organisations in this country which have strict code of conduct and working under strict discipline unlike Wapda, OGDC, PSM, Agriculture, Canals, PIA, Railway...but I think it is not good enough to defend the country in case a war errupts. Also the corruption inside forces is increasing. Why a Col would need two helpers to sort out his personal belongings.
8) Regarding stopping drones attacks, I believe our forces are not good enough to take Nato head-on. That is what's stopping them. The devils is playing tricks and is ready to launch an open war against our Armies...this is a trap. We cannot fight these bast***s with current technology and capabilities.
