PAF IL-78 aerial refueling tanker

Why do we need tankers? For example US Air Force aircraft need to get from the US mainland to Iraq or Afghanistan, where is the PAF intending to go?

They do not fly all the way from US to Iraq!! They have Aircraft Carriers ain the middle-east before the way on Iraq or Afghanistan! No Jet can fly that much.

I meant bombers like B-2 Spirit which flew all the way from US, dropped bombs on targets in Iraq and flew back all without ever stopping and just once needing aerial refueling.

what a waist of money ,,,, or may be its only for PAF but for use of USA for some of them future planing .....

If PAF dont get this aircraft then this money is waist (waste) by our leaders

this is a waste of precious money and nothing else.this could be easily spent on education and health care.we are 3rd world nation not a super powers this limited resources which should be utilized in development projects

Mirage III - ROSE upgrade,

Pakistan airforce has purchased a total of 4 Il-78P Midas tanker aircraft have from the Ukraine. These aircrafts are equipped with Soviet-designed UPAZs pods and refueling kits on Mirage-III Rose-I is of South African origin. In first stage PAF has announced that 30 Mirage-III Rose-I will be upgraded with in-flight refuelling probes and this too is being done at PAC kamra.

The Il-78s will give the PAF its first airborne refueling capability. They will help train Pakistani crews in mid-air refueling techniques, and once operational will be used to refuel the Mirage-III, eventually JF-17 Thunder and Fc-20.

Our previous versions of Mirage III and V were of different colour. They had commando type pattern.

We still has the same commando type pattern for the Mirage V's but those are our Naval fighters and these are our deep strike fighters which are been upgraded for IFR(In Flight Refuelling) purpose.

No, not photoshop but those white patches are where Squadron Markings are to be put and these are not inducted into squadron until now as they are still under testing so no sqaudron markings.
