That's what I want to know. How much hot is really hot in Pajero. No one has answered that. Though the needle stays stable at center and does not go above even with load and revving. But the problem now is smoke. Just Rev it and it's smoking quite alot as compared to it did back in Hyderabad.

dear the lines between the needle indication can be consider the situation of heat of engine ... there are two lines in between if you notice , when temp needle cross on line it's okay state for car engine but if you notice that the needle is crossed just a little or some milli metter above the second line you consider your ride is in heat up state and needs attention . and the smoky thing , i some times notice on my north tour that when i was going up hill before shindoor pass , which is a high place i felt smoke and extrem power when i put my ride in 4 H gear . my friend told me that there is a system in pajero engine that stops some pipe when you get to high altitude and give you power and a bit smoke .

Common things first.....
If the vehicle was fine earlier at Hyd.....
Did you refuel enroute Qta?
Poor/adulterated fuel could be a cause....
Loss of power, smoke, resultant high temp values.....
Before you go jumping......
To that Harvard graduate mechanic of yours......
Suggest you flush your tank via the drain nut when the fuel tank is near empty....
Change the diesel filter.....
And crank her up.....
The recipe.....
Might just click!

Thanx for replying, I will be going to my Harvard Graduate Mechanic tomorrow (very true, finding good mechanic here in Quetta is near to impossible, have to tell them each and everything myself). Yes I had it filled up at Jacobabad area which is prone to adulterated Diesel.
Telling you todays experience, the Pajero is behaving rather better than yesterday, less smoke compared to yesterday and few days back. Seems like DIESEL is the main culprit here. Yet again , I will be going for Air Filter and Fuel Filter change tomorrow. Oil and Oil filter still has 1000kms to go.

So I changed the Air Filter and smoke is literally gone. The culprit was air filter. Will drive extensively tomorrow to see if heating problem is solved or not.

Purchased Qabuli 3 spoke original steering as well, old one was ruined.

Total cost : 450Rs for Air Filter
2700rs for Steering.
350rs for Diesel Filter which will be fitted after tank flush.
