Update on Gen3 6G74:
Haven’t been able to get the speedo meter yet, it’s fuel gauge card (the white card at the back) is faulty.

One guy is asking 15k for an original (used), the technician says he can repair it in 2.5k, but it may damage the whole meter if anything goes wrong which won’t be his responsibility. I’m trying to find a cheaper one but the last resort is to repair the old one first.
The cruise control isn’t working and the culprit is a broken ribbon inside the steering wheel. If any of you know or come across a working cruise control stick, please let me know. I once got a similar kind of ribbon repaired about a year ago through a juggaar but that was related to my DSLR Camera’s Screen which to me was a lot more sensitive and risky thing to do. The camera screen works absolutely fine ever since but I also took extra care by not tilting or swiveling it much and 99% of the time it stays at a single position.
Got the vehicle to the silencer works guy, he says that there’s a damaged packing and a few minor adjustments which will take care of the low noise at a particular RPM.

Hello @dayrider. You said you know some guy in Peshawar who has got Pajero parts. Can you give me his number? "Homeboy" who’s restoring his LC is in Lahore and will go to Peshawar. He lives in my society (never met him though) so he can bring a few parts.

also describe the issue with the meter. Reasonable meters cost between 10k-15k.
If you go for repair, there are tricks to caliberate it which very few people know of, don't mess with something and not take advice from someone who knows about it

Talked to him, he said first check if the engine is 6g74 or 6g72, because both have different RPM. The car is presently at the Suspension workshop, front shock absorbs are faulty, and will be changed along with a few more parts including ball joints etc.

The good thing is that according to the mechanic, the suspension is opened for the first time , the bad thing is, the suspension is opened for the first time and need repairs and parts

Shocks original KYB Japan, along with balance rod bush, lower arm bush, and something called Ballpoint reckend, which I couldn't understand on the phone, might be ball joints or something. Fitting has started, once front is completed then the back end would be taken care of.

I did in an earlier thread, didn't I? The fuel gauge is fine, checked after putting the fuel tank down, it's the card (white card at the back of the speed meter) that is faulty. Please check my earlier thread for pictures.
Unfortunately, both my project manager and the mechanic know me well. They will not cut any corners as this vehicle is not for sale in the very near future, hopefully, so everything we are doing is to make our lives at ease for at least 2.5-3 years if not more.
Pockets are now near empty, so chances are that we have to compromise on a few things pertaining to the cosmetics of the vehicle, which I'm not too concerned at this point as my main aim is to have a trouble free vehicle for myself and the family. As long as it's mechanically and electrically ok, I'm happy. However, children are just too excited to have their first BIG GAREE, which is a pressure that I have to somehow handle. Since I've got a 2015 Vezel as well for my wife, so I know whatever I would do with the cosmetics of the Pajero, it won't come close to that.

White board is the Circuit board of the gauges, can't be completely faulty, does the temperature gauge work properly? if not, this is due to a small resistor in the white box that gets displaced, check youtube for repairs. And Also. calibrate the meter

Update on Gen3:
Suspension works all done, and now the cosmetics work has started. It is currently at the workshop for bumper paint, there's nothing wrong with the bumpers, just a few scratch marks and some small dints.

The door handle bezel(s) got broken clips, the door inner and outer handles are all good and work perfectly, so again looking for the bezels to be replaced.

The door handles are not 100% except one rear left one. So I’m looking for 3 door inner handles with bezels and one rear left bezel only. Let’s see how much time wil it be till I get some.

Which one is better for hard core off-roading, 2.5 D or 2.8 D?
In terms of capacity to handle the hard terrain?

2.8D is better in capacity, is a gas guzzler but better

Update:
One thing is leading to another, when we thought that the bumpers are all set, the foot landing at the back and the shield below look kinda 'ugly' so off they went for bake painting, which means one more day to get the car internally cleaned.

So if all goes as per plan (which I'm beginning to doubt now), the vehicle will go for internal cleaning today, then if time allows, will go for the seat covers and will come back day after or on Thursday. I got the seat recliner fixed, one left rear seat's cable was damaged and it's fixed now. Haven't heard anything from Peshawar about the door handles and bezels yet, have shortlisted 4 door handles from eBay United Kingdom, but that would be the extreme last option, as the nearest arrival (a friend) will be late April. Let's see what happens.

Does 2.8TDI SWB 2nd generation has center differential lock option?
I have 1987 2.5D, it's front wheel and doesn't efficiently support in 4WD, is it fault with 1st generation?
