Baleno is good also but it has quiet of much -ve points! Poor Pick!

i used to own a margalla 1995 some years back, indeed an awesome machine but i must say that Margalla requires quite a bit of maintenance.

TOTALLY disagreed with calling city 06 to 08 as worst car. It is one of the best rides for Pakistan. Great fuel economy, totally soundless engine, Handling is good as well.
I use to own IDSI manual 1995
and car lives up to its expectations. As for the pick yes IDSI is sluggish but i guess you have no clue about the 1.5 steermatic version.

^^^ Civic 2007 onwards has 4 wheel discs, but its braking is better than any of the local cars.

The point being that disc/drum is just one of the factors. Other major factors are the correct distribution of body weight, and lower centre of gravity.

Corolla 2002 onwards and city 2002 IDS-i both seem to have their respective centres of gravity pretty high...its even apparent from the shapes themselves.

@naxun I agree with u City's Poor Braking as well as handling . I would also like to add that City is downright dangerous in rainy conditions as the rear end of the car seem as if it has no grip.

@ samialvi I concur with u on ur reviews. ur right on the mark.

I am not sure why everyone seems to think that City has high fuel efficiency .. the fuel economy is higher than other cars but it is NOT higher by a large margin and secondly city is in reality a 1200cc car and as such should be compared to other 1200 hundred cc cars.. The engine designation is L12a2. the 1300cc Honda engine ( not available in pakistan is called L13A)

@Ali.. Drum brakes can also function well provided they are correctly optimized. Disc brakes are better and corolla has
disc brakes but they are not properly optimized for the application ( it costs a lot of money to optimize things)

@bango .. u r right .. a car can be very light and very stable .. provided the weight is properly balanced and everything is in the right place and of the right specifications... indeed all race cars are very very light yet very very fast.

@retrograde .. i m afraid that ur speaking from ur gut feeling as opposed to having real/proper technical knowledge. do remember that tyres are choosen by the manufacturers after taking into account many conflicting factors, not to mention the fact, the capabilities of the car. It is for this reason that Civic has 15 inch tires and City is reccomended to have 13 inch rims

(3)Suzuki Khyber/Swift (1989-2001{Limited Edition}) Boy I Preffer Khyber 1 lac times over new 2009 alto

(4) Suzuki Margalla(The Top of the list machine which our local pak suzuki ever produced A Dream car unexpected one from pak suzuki,of late 90's erra for me with all perfect things)

(5)Suzuki Cultus 2000-2002(after that Paksuzuki forgot what they are) lush push maintaince,trouble free,outstanding on petrol a lil better inside than margalla though the technology was old but car was superb

2ndly Daehatsu

(1)Daehatsu Charade 1984 Reconditioned 90's (Excellent Resale,Marvolous grip,decent options till today)

(2)Daehatsu CHarade 1986 Reconditioned 90's(almost the same as 84 but the resale is quit slow rather than 84)

(3)Daehatsu AMBA OR LOCAL NAME ANDA CHARADE 1987-1990 Recondition 90's well the JEM technology of GTti-GT-XX introduced first time in pakistan by daehatsu in sports versions of it,this car has worst resale though but technology wise its awesom...

(3)1982 With Bullet resale,perfect car from almost all aspects...

(4)1986 Reconditioned 90's GL-Seloon,SE-Limited, 1.5,1.6 SE-Limited,DX-Seloon etc Really the GOLD car of its time and still its price is the same almost way better than newer ones

(5)1988(EE-90) Reconditioned 90's GOod resale,Boy Lovely shape,very comfortable,luxurious,simply tremendous

(6)Never than less APNI INDUS boy speechless for this Work Horse Technology man,after driving Toyota is the best came from my mouth after many days:),though i love civic but i always preffer indus over it hmm

Now Honda,Honda is the name of comfort though all were great of there erra but there are few from which honda got resale at best and which i love most too

(1)Honda Civic 1988 Japan imported 1.5 Though it has poor resale but its good machine

(2)Honda Civic 1992 1200 Japan imported Very slow resale but not the poor,but the machine is awesom

(3)Honda Civic 1995 Ex Local just lovers knows what it is this car is the reason mainly due to which people started attracting with honda cars... few people might 2nd this reason of mine is'nt it it has very fast resale,and now a days huge number of people are after it:)

(4)Honda Civic 1999-2001 Boy after 95 the shape given was out standing simply though the interior,engine n all was of previous 96-98 model but due to shape people liked the car and it has very good resale after 95 civic

(5)Honda City ExiS 1999-2003 Just WOW for it the best car in 1300cc category among all i preffer margalla after it in 1300cc category its on 2nd on my 1300cc cars list from all aspects

(6)Honda Civic 2003-2005 VTi Oriel well i didnt find anything to praise really interesting,but its just OK car to me;) pick wise,suspension wise comfort outstanding but it is way far better than throughing money for xli,gli se seloon its preferable car on these muds...

@Naxun: On the contrary, you learn to accept that Liana is a miserable car as evident from millions of posts on PW. Insetad you start to bash City which is the best car 1.3 for Pakistan. Absolutely no handling and braking issues. Even the owers of Liana are posting against it, the car literally falls apart after some time

@Paindu: Sir jee your nick even indicates that you will ib inclined towards a rolla. BTW you cannot expect much from a car with non-ABD system and rear drum brakes. Also stock tyres suck which 90% of the people change anyway

^^ bhai garei ke brakes lag jatein hain lekin car slips like hell....even if u apply brakes on 60 car will skid.....

@samialvi....city 2003-08 braking was not good compared to all other models of honda...
and yah baleno had no isssue in pick...dont bring lianas fault in baleno...:S

Why it skids ? I think because of small size brakes and heavy body isn't it ?
