I have a city 2007 Idsi at home, purchased brand new .. 55,000km so i speak from experience when i rate these cars. I also have a Corolla Gli 2004, also purchased brand new, 100,000 km . I am not inclined towards Corolla as u indicate, if u read my review you would notice that i rank both cars City Idsi and Corolla Gli as the worst cars I have ever driven/used.

the cars u mentioned may be good but corolla 1974?? they are all in the graveyard now so reviewing it would be of no use to the readers. the same applies to 1978 cars and the 80s cars
. I am not sure if anyone, even in 1984, would have ranked FX as a good car. the same thing applies to mehran ( all models)

Dear i ve no objection to this thread but auto history is older then you explained,it starts with US made GM,UK Fords,Benz and Volkswagons from 1947 till 1967,in 1967 Japanese Auto maker started marketing in Pakistan and so on ............ the details req a complete thread you had just discussed 2 decades of motoring in the country

Yeh baat to hai.. ke brakes baki honda ke models ke hisab se itni ache nai thein! but still they are better! ruk jati hai gari atleast!

Paindu sahib your justification is not good enough, I will still not agree to the braking problem. One dude wrote something nice that "if you drive like a sane person you will not have any problems at all".

The only thing is that dont expect too much from a non-abs braking system. I had a colleague having city 2007 and he also complained about the breaks. I went with him on a test drive and he actually was comparing the brakes with ABS civic and I told him to get it out of his head.

Sir you have no right to call a city the worst car which is not true at all and other owners on PW will hopefully prove it

Margalla is a very good car..but considering it in now a days...it is way old to have with interms of safty and economy and reliability

and on the other hand

both cars height was to high which them very unstable at some points

few cars get more sales only because of their reliability and resale..but it never means that is the most secure car for u and yr family

City 2004-2008 as the worst car? Surely you people have not driven it. It is one of the best overall package in its price. The handling, brakes, drive quality everything is smooth and great as compared to XLI, suzuki etc. I don' know about manual, as i personally own a Vario 2005, but the breaking performance is great. No problem with acceleration either.

I guess it's also down to how you maintain your car, but still I have seen whoever owns City vario or manual, it's difficult for him to switch to other cars.

Also, my city Vario 2005 gives me an average of 13 km/litre even with city and all driving within the city (from office to home and to office). If that's not good for an automatic car, then i'm not sure what you mean by good fuel economy!

As a senior in age here as far as I remember that Suzuki Margalla (at time it was called Swift Sedan) was a flop in the early 1990s.

About City breaking. I was hit by a city from the rear. It just skids like Xli.

About Xli, driving it since 2005 Jan, most reliable, trouble free, fule efficient, maintenance-free car. Have not hit anyone yet, but as I said I was hit by a city from the rear. Good for old uncles like me.

@ poster you are spot on with your reveiws, just like to add a few words to praise Margalla. My fatehr bought one at in 1993 zero meter and boy what a car it was. i was in my teens at that time (not to mention when your adreline levels are sky high) i remember it had a great pick up and could beat any 1.3 honda or toyota any time. i remember it used to screach if you left the clutch too quick even in the 2nd gear.

i'm no fan of suzuki nut No doubt it was the best local suzuki's ever made
