I came here quite late. I am a JDM wagonR 2012 model owner. self import in 2015 , 4 grade 16k driven . Almost 2 years I have not found a single problem. The luxury and comfort of it is superb. now coming to original question. I will try to keep it simple.
- everyone has their own requirements, needs, preferences, likes,dislikes, so yahan jitna marzi pooch lo parh lo 1000 different opinions milain gay . at the end its "you" (or your dad's) whose 'opinion' will decide what you get
if you want "power" of 1000cc like you 'require' to load it to full and over and go on long hauls. If you "require" to resale it soon after 2-3 years . If you are not a v careful driver or your locality or route is a congested one where body damage etc probability is high for example. lahore shahaalmi market , badami baagh etc. then go for wagonR local. oh and also if you don't require safety features then definitely go for wagonR teen dabba . Also at best ideal no more than 14 km/L fuel economy, mostly its around 12 and on slow routes its worse.
if slightly change that and you wont be selling your car soon atleast for 4-5 years and you are but still want high cc engine. go for FAW v2. my friend has it and it is more than worth it. pros are safety features, ABS, air bags, vitz v1 engine, comfort. all parts available. mechanics can easily fix anything and everything. Also 3S support at FAW awesome. CONS: OEM parts are a bit expensive, resale is low (for now, but in few years with so many entrants the big3 monopoly is going down). and token tax a bit high because of higher than 1000cc engine
Now for JDM, even if it is used. if you buy low mileage 4 grade verified auction sheet, like me, at 16km it was like a brand new car. There is no comparison of JDMs worth of money, ABS, air bags, the comfort, its "very" spacious inside, auto cvt transmission (manual will feel like khota gaari after that), fuel economy of around 20km/L (the worst I have got in summer with full AC is 18km/l, these days in winters its 22km/l). The features i wont even mention the brother with spare wheel problem, you can get spare wheel at 2000-2500rs and put it in back diggi, no issue at all.
I have taken it from lahore to naran kaghan with family + luggage then to babusar top. no issue at all. CONS: parts are expensive ofcourse, but if you use after market parts cheaper alternatives are available now .
a big point is you have to drive it 'carefully' .
if you 'have' to buy local and you value safety of your loved ones lives : go for atleast Faw V2
if you want to worth of money , careful driving , best fuel economy, luxury, automatic : go for JDM wagonR ,
P.S: Stingray turbo engine is for like 'shoqeen' mizaaj it add about 75k-100k to the price . if you want it , IMHO its features are a bit overkill for a 660cc small daily drive cars.
