Engine Oil Change:
Rs. 3880 + 450 + 110
2 months free from car troubles and I cannot imagine how much life has improved. Makes one more productive and focused on more important tasks. Since the warranty period is over, I now took the car to get oil changed locally.
The biggest problem I faced is of unreliable shopkeepers in my area that force us to pour 20W-50 in cars. So I drove to the nearest dealer of Total to get my car rejuvenated (Near lucky one). They were really thorough and I decide to switch from Total Quartz 9000 0W-20 fully synthetic to Total Quartz 9000 5W.30 fully synthetic.
Reason was
increased engine noise in 0w-20, probably hinting at
improper lubrication for engine. Fully synthetic will be my go to and Suzuki Dealerships don't give that option in 5w-30.
Gear Oil Change:
Rs.2500
Paksuzuki Wagon R requires exactly 2.2 Litres of Manual Transmission oil (API - GL4).
The best option was ZIC FF 75W-85 Fully Synthetic.
Immediately, I can feel the car shifts gear with much more ease. Although a good oil cannot fix a crappy Suzuki Gearbox, it has solved all my grinding problems, gear sticking problems, and Not getting into first gear problems. Satisfied.
Battery Top-up:
Rs.60
Battery went completely dry. I have become negligent on my car maintenance front since the Semester started and now it is ending on a very high note Alhamdullilah. The guy topped the battery with some filthy stuff that I suspect was little more than tap water. He called it 'chemical mixed with water'.
Conclusion
So... Buying Wagon R was a sound financial decision despite it is not even close to comfortable in drive, but an ideal car for middle class. It gave me half the maintenance costs of Cuore (46000 vs 72000) in the same time (10 months) and a lot of petrol savings.
