• I've Suzuki Alto 2006 Model 100k km driven.from day 1 i used Zic hiflu 20W50 till 70k km.then i switched to Caltex Havoline 20W50 due to fake oil issues.I'm still using Caltex Havoline 20W50.
• i changed my gear oil 1st time after 10k km and I'm still using same gear oil(ZIC) coz my mechanic says that there is no need to change gear oil as new oil will eat the copper parts in gear box which is harmful.he says i should only top up the oil if required.

my questions are

• is it safe to switch from Caltex Havoline 20W50 to ZIC? if yes which is better for ZIC 20W50 or ZIC 10W40? pleas mention price and reliable dealer in Lahore as well.
• Should i change the gear oil now?if yes then recommend me the oil,its quantity and price.

Hi,

Don't use 20Wyy or xxW20, for xxWyy -> xx should be 10 or less and yy (in summer) >=40 & yy (in winter) >=30.

It's ok to switch to other brands, as posted in above post get engine flush before changing oil, would be positive.

If you have issue with gear, sound or gear trapping while shifting etc. then go for change and force mechanic to drain rightly anyway then u can change. BUT sometimes people had -ve experience too. but it's better when there is problem.

Secondly why u are consfusing the reader with jubo mumbo terminologies. Simply reply me how effective ZIC A to avoid engine wear & tear as compared to Continuous protection of castrol magnatec intelligent molecules. If it is equivalent to your ZIC A then why Castrol Magnatec prices is more than ZIC A & ZIC A+???

Castrol Magnetic is not API SM it is API SL, you are telling from UK Based website, here in Pakistan they are selling there obsolete products not the latest products. because they just consider us as a fool nation.

Mr. SKZIC, Castrol Magnatec is also available in API SM and its far more expensive than ZIC A & A+ and why are u diverting discussion by using terminologies and packing pictures. I am just asking how much effective ur ZIC A than Castrol Magnatec in early startup wear & tear and all driving conditions. Earlier at my first oil change at 1000km i switched to Castrol Magnatec and i am very much satisfied because engine noise has reduced remarkably and also engine performance in terms of acceleration and smoothness.

For information of all reader, CASTROL is a worldwide leader in lubricants industry and aircrafts manufacturers recommend only and only CASTROL lubricants in their engines.

Isn't it Mr. SKZIC. SO Now please be specific in ur reply and no more pics & terminologies !!!!!!

I was checking Castrol Malaysia site and very advanced products there by Castrol.. 5w-40 is common BUT 10W-60 so and so... Castrol Edge, also 5W-30 in Magnatec..

Same with Caltex, they have very good product line, even for Asia but in Pakistan...

yes it's true that Castrol Magnatec is good product but as Santro_lover also pointed out that in Pakistan Castrol Magnatec is being sales with API SL , Grade as i showed you the pic. too. Now as you are keep asking me about the better aspect of ZIC A, API SM, SAE 10W40, so it is the huge differerance beteween ZIC A, AND Castrol Magnatec that ZIC A, HAS API SM GRADE AND ON THEOTHER HAND MAGNATEC HAS SL, GRADE , More over your are so intellegent to compare both with regard to API GRADINGS. Lastly sir, ZIC OILS are being produced from API group III's prime portion YUBASE 6, With has the better cold starting protection,High temperature and high shere rate, Low engine Noise and so on better performance indicators then its competitor

Get your engine flushed by some chemical, some mechanics advise using thin oil separately but better to use the chemical like one shown in below thread. You would be able to go 5K.

Sir, the ODI OF ZIC A, API SM, SAE 10W40 is atleast 5k , but as you are saying that oil becoming blackish only after 3k it is unlikely to hapen. i suggest you to bring you car to our Service centre in Faisalabad where its origine can be pinpointed, let our technicien diagnose it . there coud be some other reasons behind it . Other two reasons might be, if you are using petrol then it's rusty dusty etc.
Your air filter might be of bad quality or direct air leakage to carburetor..
OR the oil you early used, was not genuine you got some recycled one etc.

yeah, i have the same suspicion, i get my oil changed from suzuki dealership and it seems that they or their employees are using recycled oil.

Please tell me the exact brand name of ZIC oil that I should put in my Civic 2009 during next few months of winter.
I have to change oil at 15000 km reading during next week. So far, it was free service from Honda so I had to rely on their own Honda Oil. But now I want to get the best available in market, exactly according to my vehicle's requirement and our weather condition.

Yes Dear as you mentioned it is safe to switch over to other brand while with out changing VISCOSITY GRADE, but one thing you should keep in view that never go back in API GRADING, like if you are using API , SM GRADE then try to remain in API SM, GRADING some time not all times it can cast some nagative impect on the machine. Secondly as ZIC HIFLO, API SM, SAE 20W50 is the best option while using oil having grading of 20W50, then you don't need to go for other options, any how as you mentioned it is not unsafe ,and as you asked which oil is best for your car i recommend you to keep use ZIC HIFLO,20W50, API SM,GRADE,(Retail price: 1450/-, and i sugest you to visit our service stations 1. Wahdat road , 2. Johar Town near Shoukat khanam Hospital . for appointment pl. call me @ 03444445936. for further guidance.
More over where GEAR OIL is concerned you should replace it after ever 40k as recommended by OEMs. It is a famous misconception amoungest our most Techniciens bro that gear oils should not be replaeced" is wrong
So always replace gear oil after ever 40k. Our ZIC GEAR OIL GL-4, 75W85 is recommended by PAK SUZUKI MOTOR COMPANY TOO.

And lastly the prize of Gear Oil is 392/Litre.
