Pakwheels Needs Technical Moderators or Technical Credibility Score of Members

I have some experience with vehicular automotives and knowledge as well .. I was quite an active member till I saw an influx of members, who were either totally naive or rude .. the growth of PW resulted in many advisors, mostly having no back ground knowledge or skills .. The irony is that there are quite a few people, who start believing in what all is being advised and end up spending handsome sums on ill advise, even getting their good systems wrecked .. this being a general observation .. requirement is to make PW free of wrong advisory on technical matters ..

I have two suggestions on this

Options 1 (temporary solution) : appoint a few technical members, having sound technical knowledge, to edit or check posts which r not technically correct

option 2 : Give technical expertise marks (by a few selected technical members or a board of such members) .. these marks will be displayed along with the member's display picture .. negative for negative advice, or red color may be used and likewise positive or green color .... soon everyone will be knowing, whose advise to follow and whose not to .. a red color credibility person, will try to keep quiet or try giving better advice in future

Influx of members hurt your feelings bro? Being naive isn’t essentially a bad quality, about being “rude” well online forums give anonymity and with that comes trolling. Inherent part of online experience. You should take it easy and don’t let it break your heart. Life is like that in general, how do you cope real life if can’t seem to handle this... I wonder.

When u r out helping others and see some people causing damage intentionally or un-intentionally, then it really hurts .. its not a matter of staying around and facing the brunt, for that we all have other social websites and apps .. it's a matter of improving the environment .. my effort will always be to improve the environment of technical forums of PW

PW should adapt something like the StackOverFlow communities. Reputation points, negative points, etc.

Both options would improve information in forum . I think option 1 would be easy to do but if option 2 applied that would be a big step , more credible , easy for users to find exact and correct relevant info. Option 2 will also differentiate between permanent users and temporary.

Well yes it is much needed on pw imho
But both of these thing will discourage traffic on pw
As user may "argue" with mods on removal of there post in case one
And rating user on credibility will as well discourage them
I guess it will be better if pw in technical sections allow members to rate posted replies all modern forums do that

u r right about reduction in pw traffic .. but rating someones post is quite tough .. for example here (below in inverted commas) is a copied section of a post .. dont want to share thread or name of person who wrote .. what rating will u give him

I would totally agree to flag posts and members usefulness but how ... that is what will need to be engineered...
I would second "Stack Over Flow" that is a 10/10 Excellent community and one stop shop for any "technical issue" for Engineers...

PWheels can get influence from that... its a good idea....

The subject you have raised has been discussed with @HanifBhatti saheb since past several years when i met him 1st time for a cup of tea. some sections popped up however nothing have changed, your observation is very correct and point on. Serious re-mapping of this forum is required before slow death shadow the technical side of the portal

The current Yahmon (miser as Yahoodi- idiot as Memon) owners will kick you under the belt., make you vomit over a positive suggestion for improvement., as it will involve serious resource diversion. no body feed healthy fooder to a Gold Peeble shitting sheep., unless sheep goes sick.

We all know the current owners of this domain & forum are only a hosting company with a team involved to maintain and manage several portals under one roof. Have steady flow from google analytics and thats' the edge they have. They have no skill for any DIY, they hail a cab driver to change flat tyre, they have no interest in educating people; present objective is name & fame in auto industry which is right on.

Lets conclude : If the posts r edited technically (with negative marking), there is a likely chance that PW users may reduce, which is not good for business .. so we wait for a time when quality is more important than quantity

from the level of the articles posted, do you think they have anyone technical working for them, commercialization / Click and Buy, Insane junk traffic is what is required not DIY or helpful articles. More efforts are pitched IN by users rather than the portal itself.
