A new entry level DSLR would cost atleast 40-45K with kit lens.

If you think its more than your budget then go for Panasonic Lumix FZ35K (FZ38 in Europe). It is best compact super zoom out there. Though Canon G12 has better image quality but it lacks the zoom range.
