Are there any special deals / bundle offer etc going on? What to check when buying a DSLR? Boxes are sealed? Do we have any proper/official dealers of Canon or Nikon in Lahore or Islamabad? This will be the first time I will be buying the camera from Pakistan due to urgency; so bit concerned!

bro u may go to billu photos in lahore, its on chamberlain road ..he gives good rates, and has original stuff., bro it depends what the shop guy offers, or if there is a company offfer, otherwise u only get a camera, buying it chk the seal , open it urself,and chk the warranty, there are 2 types, local and international, international is little cheaper then local warranty...

I think the online deals won't be available in Lhr/Isl. You will have to visit the market yourself and see what is available at that particular moment.

Anyone using lens with f/2.8 or /w bigger aperture? How much difference it can bring comparing to typical kit lenses (f/3.5-5.6)?

My primary subjects are growing kids and most of my photos are indoors!

For indoor shots, it makes a huge difference. A 50/1.8 is a good value choice.

Don't know about Canon, but a Nikkor 50/1.8 can be had for about $100, whereas a 50/1.4 is about $400, and a 50/1.2 (Nikon's fastest lens) is about $600. Used prices are lower of course.
