Passo Engine Overhaul Issues

I recently got an engine overhaul done for my 2009-12 Passo. The power was good but the engine was consuming oil. After every 3000km, half of the engine oil was gone. I bought it 4 months ago so not sure about the history but i was using 5w30. The problem now is, i have driven it over 1000km after overhaul and the car still feels sluggish as hell. Just got oil changed yesterday as 1000km service and still don't feel any difference. Another issue is that the car vibrates on ac when in idle and in gear. The rpm drops upto 550/600 rpm. The mechanic that built it said that it might take a while to get normal and i should drive around 1000km more. Is that true? i have already tried cleaning throttle, map sensor, oxygen sensor, cat etc.

please also check the door pillars for vehicle ID decal it mentions Trans / Axle code. google it for exact transmission fluid specs and quantity required for change. if it has never been changed better change it now. @yasiralishoro

the cat converter is it in place or have been removed from vehicle. besides the engine overhaul. did you changed the transmission fluid. please do mention your city in next post.

Gear oil was changed 10k kms ago. Cat is also there, the whole car was totally original when i bought it. One of the mechanics checked the gear by having it on the jack, he also did the same for foundations. He said the vibration isn't related to gear or foundation.

As i said, i drove it 10k km in 4 months and never had any issue. The car got heatup once because of radiator fan not working and started reducing oil, so i had to get the engine overhauled. Both the vibration and sluggishness succeeded that.

upon overhauling the engine, did mechanic removed the thermostat valve and rewired the cooling fan to run direct? Tap water is used ?

I'm from karachi. Earlier i was using Toyota long life coolant but now theres tap water in the radiator, i think he changed it during the rebuild. The fan is on auto. He changed the pistons, rings, did valve job etc as per him. No sleeve was used since it was the first time the engine was rebuilt.

As per him, i should drive it about 1000km more so that valves and what not will perform better. Is it true? are these issues normal after 1kr rebuild?

without doing a compression test, overhauling an engine because USTAAD said so is very unwise. Being a PW for 6 years you have high edge over any ustaad, you can read write and discuss your problem here.

i assume thermostat valve is also missing from cooling system.

vibration could be from multiple reasons. bad ignition coils, bad tappets, faulty throttle body.
i can recommend 2 guys - approach for diagnosis and solution which ever is close by

I'm at jameel autos at the moment, attached are the readings from compression test.

compression readings are healthy engine. there must be some other issue in ignition system mr. irshad is sensible man am sure he can resolve your issue.

yes he has his doubts on tappets. But he said he will try to see if theres an issue with fuel pump or filter first! lets see. From the readings of compression test, it look likes the rebuild was successful.

Got an update from Irshad Ahmed, fuel pump and filter were completely choked. Here is the situation, lets see if that fixes the problem. I will keep updating the thread accordingly.

Ok now was the old engine cylinder was bored out for new piston ? If yes then what was the piston size?

From compression test it's seems to be the cylinder is not bored for new pistons and std size rings are replaced only.

Please tell us about the cylinder bore and new piston size if installed.

Get it replaced it's a mess. After that analyze the fuel trims through scan equipment for a clearer picture.
