the e4600 stock comes with 2.4 i want to push it to 3.00ghz will it be a safe zone
and yeah i will get a better cooler and see if i can get my hands on thermal paste

most of the time, better cooler is a waste of money.....
just dont overclock too much...thats the safest thing.. i suggest 2.6 or 2.8 wud be more than enuf....
I have an e5200 and have maxed at around 3.0ghz at 48 degree C. Often i keep it underclocked to make sure it doesnt overheat cuz im using it without any paste at all ( wen i bought it, didnt know wat that paste thingy was for, so removed it, lol )

I hope you know that Intel motherboards don't support Overclocking

What motherboard do you have?

and yeah like talal786 said, most old intels dont support OCing....u might loose sound or something randomly...(happened to me once on an old VIA p4 motherboard)
replace it with an old asus p5 series board. problem solved.

always buy ASUS they r cheaper and better than Intel plus they have very nice bundles and also visually appealing

and what do you suggest can i swap it with let say your e5200

u need to check ur Motherboard whether or not it supports 45nm Processors

Download and Install CPU-Z like mentioned before

oh ..ha yar need a lil help here guys...have a 400gb HD....from year it started producing some noise

but C drive got corrupt and when i install windows ..after 2 or 3 shut down..it gets deleted again...i did this 4 or 5 times in just 3 days to copy my data from drive to another portable drive

now on last shut down..now all i can see when i start pc..it is unable to boot with USB..and later i cant see any start up BIOs page....

just a clicked...mark on left top..just as it is searching..and after 5 mints it shows system failure

M sure HD is gone...but is the HD an issue....and if it is

need to buy a new 1..which 1 to go..need to buy any thing in range of 3k to 4.5k.....and can i use this hard disk as potable HD..

i have xbox...but would love to have ps3 any time

u can have ps3 for 30k..with 160gb.......now u can get cd change for 500 rupees

xbox dvd will have same price sooner

currently i buy it for 150....but few games now coming on 3 dvd and i bought it for 600 last time ...and it was on total of 20gb

and ps3 dvd r already blue ray....so dont have issue making more dvds

@pc..i have gaming system 2...

core 2quad 2.4 ..but only for online gaming in first person shooter ...and few on pc

this is a common problem....which ever one u buy now, make sure it comes with atleast 3year warranty...

with the hard disk removed, turn on ur computer and see if u see the BIOS screen etc...if u dont, it may even be a graphic card problem....try a diferent graphic card..
It may just be the graphic card only and not the HDD. but cud be both as well....

you can buy a 500gb or 320gb HDD in that budget..try to get Western Digital. that is the best. will be a little more expensive, but works better than seagate.
