Ans to every question. the first time I wrote it in detail but before it was saved it vanished into thin air, now I've done it again with less details, don't have the courage to do it again.
- Though your drove throughout the highway, but highway itself is only single road. I mean only single lane and you are driving at 120 km/h. OMG. Big chances for skidding to other lane.
A: The main interstate roads are two way two lane roads all across. Once I passed Wagga Wagga NSW and entered the Hume Hwy, then the situation changed. Passing 54m road trains in windy situation is a nerve wrecking experience for an amatuer :)
- Did you observe that difference in English Accent throughout your journey? Or people speak English even in very small villages and you can understand them well?
A: Not at all, mostly the same aussie accent. You can find different accents and flavours in urban areas depending on population but I think country side was mostly similar.
- Why no pubs on the way? Small towns usually have pubs of their own type where they serve drafted bear or something like that.
A : Some road houses had pub type facility but not all of them. Mostly the large town had these options.
- Its v. popular that Australia has so many Kangroos even on the roads. But couldn?t see any through these pictures.
A: I didn't found a single alive kangaroo on or beside the road during the day. Saw a few during dusk and dawn. There were quite a few road kills but might have happened during dusk or dawn. I've mentioned in my earlier post that a local guy on the way told me he had yet to see a kangaroo on the road since he was born
- What was the temperature outside during day & night when you travelled?
A: Its summer time but temp varied from time to time and place to place. Like Perth was 39C when we were leaving but stayed mostly cloudy and somewhere between 23~36C all the way upto Eucla, where it was like winter. I cudn't stand outside for long, it was freezing. Later on, it never soared above 30C, interestingly we didn't felt it as it was dry not humid heat and we still were able to drive most of the time without AC, windows up.
Fuel Quality is good in these small & tinny towns? Or same like PK, you can find bad quality fuel in cities, but worst quality fuel in villages.
A: Fuel quality is good all the way. The only exception is that not all RON are available. I usually use 96 but sometime had to use 91 due to no availability. A couple of times I mixed 98 and 91 too.
What Engine oil you fed to your ride?
A: Before starting the journey I did a full service from Automaster and am not sure what oil they used. But it can stand 10,000km so might be good :)
Most important of all, next time if you want to have such journey, plz call me to go with. I?d love to join. Lol.
A: I've plan to do a round Lap in an RV. Which is a very cheap alternative to our own transport. Companies like Britz, Maui, Apollo etc give a full tank and charge dialy rent of $1 upto $7 depending on size of the caravan per day. We can plan a rendezvous and do it sometime I believe. You need will to do it, pieces fall together by itself.
Hope it helps
