Petition: Pakwheels Store Spamming

As most of you might have noticed, Pakwheels.com has started online merchandise; which is good news for those of us who want to buy tasteless Chinese stuff, on higher prices than the market, without getting off their couch.

Fair enough! Everyone's having a ball at this, why not the biggest online community of Pakistan should get their kicks as well?

Well, there's lies the problem:

Over the years Pakwheels has inspired a motoring revolution in Pakistan. This is an enterprise that has accomplished unfathomable feats over the last decade. From organizing enormous car shows and providing a platform for Classic Cars appreciation society, to changing the way people build & trade cars, and exchanged knowledge in Pakistan. Pakwheels has done so much that it really holds a special place in the spirit of every motorist we know.

We don't know who's running the floor these days, but they have big shoes to fill. And spamming own site isn't least bit helpful. That too with the most dreadful landfill; advertised in least orderly fashion, with minimal yet somehow misleading details. One doesn't inspire people and then go around selling such load of automotive reject to the automotive juveniles. You might as well start selling ex-parrots.


Even if you have to- for obvious reasons- would it hurt to make a separate section on the main site? Make a separate tab. Mark it as 'Get Your Cancer Here'. Put all the similar items in one ad and explain that other colours and fragrances, etc are also available. And voila... everybody wins.

Why go around spamming pages and pages of accessories section with similar stuff for each car on the face of the country, posted in different ads?

We thought that's the worst you could do, but then you turned your guns to Forums... and made me write all this. Please have some business ethics. Quantity isn't everything. Appreciate and realize it, before it's too late.

P.S. I kept referring to myself as WE because I know I'm not alone in this. Most of you feel the same way. So PLEASE JOIN IN. There's no nobility in silence.

I agree to this, don't spam the forum, it is good that we have a marketplace under pakwheels name but don't just spam the forum section which is totally for other purpose, I hope that pakwheels authorities will understand the difference. If there is a need why not create 1 sticky topic for marketing/selling stuff, that should be enough!

1. You do not like the items sold by PakWheels, and
2. You do not like PakWheels to sell them through the Parts Section, and
3. You do not want PakWheels to advertise those Parts in the Parts Section of Forums

Let me address the points one by one so I can make more sense to you and all the users who might be facing this problem.

1. We are constantly adding parts and accessories to our stores by partnering with and collaborating with vendors. We have just launched the store and added the items that are high in demand by running a survey from our end. As we grow, we will add kinds of products and qualities in the store so we can cater to a large audience. While we build the store module and grow vendors, please bear with us. We will have products that will appeal to you by the start of next year. We want to be the biggest online store for parts and accessories of Pakistan and that is what we as a team are all working on.

2. I know you are a regular user of Car Parts Classified section and it is natural to get upset when things change. Again, this is our second month of operations and we are collecting feedback from users like yourself so we can address issues of this type. We are building different kind of filters that would help you select/deselect different kind of items. I am confident that once those filters are live, your gripe with this will be over.

3. Parts are being advertised in the Parts for Sale section as a normal user would do. We are using this channel to reach out to the most relevant audience for our Auto Shop. However, the Forums are all about community. If the community does not welcome something, we will think about a better/alternative way to manage it. But I assure you, your feedback will not go unheard and we will manage this differently.

Let's turn this petition into a thread for collecting feedback for PakWheels Auto Shop and help us addressing your concerns timely.

The word "Forums" has lost its meaning somewhere. I appreciate the poster for highlighting the issue as many of us were afraid to speak cuz of so called Super Lifeless Mods which can do nothing but "block", like someone cares? Huh!
I'd urge the PW team to keep this commercialization stuff out of the Forums reach, ofcourse everyone is working to earn brass but you've got a whole website for that.

Generic sales threads of individual items from individual sellers are hard to come by.

I have edit my post and changed Petition to Feedback. Please edit the title as well.

I'll reply in detail later, but let me just clarify those points:

1. We don't find those items least bit worthy of PWs stature. That's all. Not entirely against selling though, not at all. Agreed that PWs needs some time, to add to the inventory. But at least items should be posted with proper details and close-to-reality description.

2. We have nothing against PWs selling them through anywhere, as long as they’re organized. A single page with 7 ads of exactly same car perfume with different fragrances is plainly irritating, don't you agree?

3. Again, for the forums, please make a thread and list all the items you have with their whole variety. Multiple threads for off-the-shelf 400 rupee items is just waste of space and inconvenience.

1- Absolutely, the quality of the items is garbage, advertising the cheapest knockoff products is certainly a bad move.

2 - The parts section in the forums is for members to sell/advertise their own goods, what's the charm when you see Pakwheels selling stuff on their own forums? P.S, members are selling better quality Air Intake Filters.

3 - Absolutely yes, Pakwheels should stick to the accessories section. The forums are for the members to use.

Regarding this, collaborate with good vendors instead of collaborating with the cheapest suppliers. I've seen Apexi Air Filters advertised as if they're original when they're garbage. You want to sell this? Fine, sell it, but please mention that it's a knockoff, also, this filter won't filter any dust particles, it's been tried and tested. You're basically selling goods as a business without doing proper research, senior Pakwheelers are well aware of quality products and can easily differentiate between counterfeit products, we used to diss people on forums who would do this, but it's actually a shame to see Pakwheels itself selling counterfeit products.

Also, selling these products is a separate issue, typing out a "Padel" instead of "Pedal", is a different issue, who is even marketing these products? Missed out on grammar sessions in school.

What @fahadullah stated is nonsense in my opinion since the point is that keep these accessories (garbage accessories if I must point out), in the accessories section rather than SPAMMING the forums.

What are the forums for? For MEMBERS. For MEMBERS to buy/sell parts, not for the website itself, this is seriously height of desperation and amateur marketing tactics. Pakwheels has probably hired buffoons in this sector who don't even know correct grammar neither do they have marketing etiquettes.

If this is how things go, it's no surprise that most senior members are leaving or have already left Pakwheels forums.

Goodluck with your stupid new venture and thanks for showing that you guys don't give a rat's a$$ to what the senior members have to say here.
