Lucky Motor is still doing research as they were planning to launch Peugeot 3008 & 5008 but i guess their plan has changed and might launch e-2008 ckd this year. They need to change their mindset and get more R&D with local customers, you cant convince your customers by saying its the best selling compact-SUV in Europe.

As @fazalwahab11375 rightly pointed out earlier, their CEO mr rizvi just a few months ago dismissed electric vehicles for pakistan as unviable.

This sudden u turn might be just to grab the crown of "Pakistan's first locally assembled EV" and nothing else. OR they might have figured that 3008/5008 would not be worth the investment owing to the lukewarm response that 2008 got so for now, they might as well milk the 2008 platform a little more by launching its electric version.

Well I disagree with you, I have been driving Etron since last year and been saving up so much on fuel. Also have solar at home which also reduced my electricity bills. Yes there's no infrastructure now but in future hopefully it will be available for everyone.

R-LNG should be mostly for industrial and commercial use, power plant is not only running by LNG as there are many other power plants such as Nuclear, Hydel, Coal, renewable(wind & solar) & furnace oil plant. All these plants altogether is 40,000mw and many other power plant are still under construction. I think in future electric is way to go and we should promote EVs public transport as well. Btw there's article of ev on today's dawn news.

Bhai do you know 2L engine as in Mini is also in BMW 740e.
Same is the case with VW, number of engine as in hatchbacks are also in sedans and both in VW and Audi. Even one varaint of Audi A7 uses the same 2L as found in Golf. Same is the case with Mercedes and many other brands around the globe.

Yes price is something different topic and we already agreed many times that 2008 seems wrongly priced being a B segment economy segment vehicle. Peugeot want to cash the word EUROPEAN and want to place it like a premium BUT EUROPEAN does not mean premium.

Of course you can put any engine you want BUT they chose Pak to put the 130HP instead of 155HP, 1.2L and chose 6 Speed transmission instead of 8 and priced it too high.

Yes most of them are a Response to PakMemes/Saib Ashfaq. Secondly its the disappointment over lost opportunity by Chinese brands. If Chinese brands had provided cars at the same rate as their international prices (corresponding to their actual repute and value) the big three would have been forced to provide better features and value for money. However, seems like Chinese manufacturers just want HIGHER profit margins for even lower quality cars. I am afraid its already a lost cause before even the start of competition.

you should check the video of pakwheel testing 0-100kph of Peugeot 2008 is in 8.5sec, most of the pkdm are not even that fast like 2008, 2ndly this power is for regular 91 RON, that 155hp version is only for high octane which is not good idea for Pakistani mkt same case in Malaysia as well. You should thank Lucky didnt opted for 1.2turbo 100hp version which is available in UK and Europe. Price of Peugeot 1.2T Allure is for 22500pound in UK and 24k euro in some European countries, in UAE its for 110k aed. Just look at the price of other PKDM vehicles like Honda civic XI oriel, it has downgrade engine power with less features for 5.4m and even slower than Peugeot 2008, atleast Peugeot 2008 has got 230nm torque!!
i agree the price is high but its cost of ckd coming from Spain plus its not even localized parts like toyota, suzuki and honda every ckd parts of Peugeot/KIA/Hyundai is imported with duty. After few months most of the rates of Toyota, Honda and Suzuki will increased due to pkr de-valuation.

Peugeot 3008 and 5008 comes with 1.6Turbo engine, btw they r not planning to launch this year so we never know if these both model are coming or not.

1.2L engine is also there in 3008 beside 1.6L as far as petrol . Actually 1.6L petrol is only on top GT and GT premium versions.

There's two type of 1.6turbo in Peugeot 3008, the one in Malaysia is 1.6T 165hp & 240nm torque with 6spd auto. Peugeot 3008 GT Sport comes with 1.6T 180hp with 8spd auto which comes in Australia, also they have 3008 Allure & GT in 1.6T same engine spec as Malaysian 3008.
