Hi guys I am Naveed and new to pakwheels, i like the way you help the people about trip and trekking, we are planning to go for trekking in naran, Our aim is to go ansoo lake by foot, information is needed about:

1- What is fare of jeep from Naran to saif ul mulook.
2- what is night stay rent at Naran for low and mid wealth.
3- what is the fee for guide.
4- Is there any huts or camps available at rent for night stat in Saif ul mulook.

1- What is fare of jeep from Naran to saif ul mulook.
The jeep fare from Naran to Lake is around 1500 to 2000.
2-what is night stay rent at Naran for low and mid wealth.
Its all depend on your bargaining skills you can find hotels easily in your budget range.
3-what is the fee for guide.
The fee of a guide and porter is approximately around 1000 its again the game of your bargaining skills.
4-Is there any huts or camps available at rent for night stat in Saif ul mulook
There is a hut of Forest Department on lake you can negotiate with them in order to stay in the hut . Not sure about the rental of tents from naran.

1.sir g da jeep can b rented @ 1500-2000 as suggested by Muhammed Ahmed bhai OR u can talk to dem per sawari system @ RS200/person as far as i remember

2.da room rent wud b around 800-2500/room...u can rent out according to ur budget wid da low rent rums in bazaar to da higher 1z in gud environment wid sceneic beauty away from noise (recomended for families)

3.we got 700/horse and guide...each horse has an individual guide it is highly recomended dat u carry sticks along wid u (as it gets very slippery at da last climb of ansoo jheel) or dey can b bought from da guides @100 or 150/stick

4.4.yes derex indeed a hut of forest but i dnt kno xactly if it has to b booked from peshawar/abbotabad or it can b rented at da spot...2ndly regarding da camps, mostly people come bak down in da evening rather than staying at saif-ul-malook...so no idea of camping as well

3- We went to Ansoo Lake last year and paid Rs.800 per horse and Rs.1,000 to guide. We agreed Rs.500 with guide but weather got worse and we met snowfall from Ansoo Lake till all the way back to Malika Parbat base camp and he brought us back safely so we gave him 1,000 for his good work.

4- The tents are available on rent at Saif-ul-Mulook but we camped at lake in our own camps. You can also rent the camping equipment from Naran bazaar.

Yes Dear we friends are also going to naran and have the same planning like you.
and its our first time to go there so can't tell you right now whats the fair but room in naran is 800-1000 and distance of saif ul malooq lake is 45 mints on jeap from naran. and ansoo lake is 50hours walking distance from saif ul malooq.

many people have already answered your questions perfectly, here are my baara aanay...

1- fare of jeep from Naran to saif ul mulook: 1000-1500 (one way) if you take dedicated vehicle for your group, or 200 on sharing basis

2- what is night stay rent at Naran for low and mid wealth: 500 - 5000, higher end can go upto 10000-20000 per night

3- what is the fee for guide: in 2008 we agreed to pay 500 to the guide, and got sticks from him on rent for 50 rs per stick. on our way back, due to rain it got very slipery and some of our members got injured, our guide was a very nice young man he helped us alot, and we got 2 horses 600 each

4- Is there any huts or camps available at rent for night stat in Saif ul mulook: hut is available as people already mentioned, i dont know its rent. there is also a maintained camping site by forest department, they have made cemented plateforms for errecting camps and charge 50-100 rs per night per camp.

if you have low budget, i will recommend you do not stay at naran, instead, when you reach naran, directly head to the lake, and spend night there in camp, its great fun and amazing experience to wakeup before sunset and find yourself at the lakes bank alone, and watch the sun rise on the mountains. another benfit of spending night before the trek at lake is, you can start early morning and come back before sunset, if you are not an experienced trekker or you have office potatos (like us) in your group you may take good 6-7 hours just to reach the lake, coming back is always faster

if u r going just for ansoo then i suggest wait for some time, its border wont be melted by now, u can see whole ansoo near end of june or early july. i went to ansoo last year 2 times, first in end of june and then in start of october!
i had also seen ansoo lake almost whole melted!

the jeep u wil hire will make 2 trips, frst fr leaving u in the morning at saif ul malook and then u hav to take one again on ur way back so be aware of that! both can cost under 2500 if u go wisely

u can get guide as low as 700 rupees bt i suggest take an expert, they will take near 1500! the trek to ansoo is tricky in this part of season so dnt get ur money wasted in a plan to save it

Yes this year snow is very less as compared to last year. I have seen the latest pics of lake Dudipet its 80% freeze.Hope so lake will be melt in first week of july.

yes they are brother, some people have commented that the snow this year seems to be less, well i don't know cos thsi was my first time and I have never been there before. but all i can tell you is that the hike from
1-lake saiful malook to (foothill) base camp of Ansoo lake mountain range took 2 hours
2- The Hike from foot hill to the start of glacier took 1 and a half hours
3- to cross the glacier and reach the top to able to see the ansoo lake took 2 hours and 3 quarters.
4- down hill as easier it took us 3 hours to reach back to the lake saiful malook, but this was non stop walk.
the oxygen level at the top was very low, so had to take a break every 5 minutes or so.

Guys if you are planning to go there I would suggest the following:
1- Use sun Block
2- Wear good grip(preferably with Spikes) boots, as you should expect to walk uphill at an angle of 65-70 degree elevation on soft ice.
3- wear a double coat water proof jacket.
4 - Hiking stick is a must

and lastly get an honest guide, any guide you hire will be happy to start with you but during the hike they will start telling you stories of how many people have been killed on this track, that a snow storm is brewing or there are chances of avalanche etc etc. make it very clear to your guide that you will go all the way no matter what. And lastly they will tell you that the hike is 3-4 hours which is absolute bollocks! depending on your fitness level it takes 5 to 7 hours uphill and 3-4 hours downhill (this is by foot)

finally dont hire a horse as even if you do you will be walking most of the time. in order to save time and energy it is advisable to hire a horse from jheel saiful malook to base camp do your hike on foot and than take a horse ride from base camp to jheel saiful malook .
