The sound being unbearable and karachis situation today took an early off.

On further inspection the mechanic was certain that the noise is coming from the water body.

Fortunately, tried removing the AC belt and turns out the smaller bearing being faulty.

As soon as the belt was removed sound is gone.

AC work is scheduled to be done in the last. So letting it be.

Got a new windscreen, Didn't get any pictures. Rs. 7500 + 2000 fitting / installation at my place

Update for today.

While the mechanic was fiddling with the bearing and fitting I removed the CD player ungripped / regrippeed loosened the fuse and it started working.

After 5 minutes both speakers started working too

Later while checking the wiper motor we realized wiper linker rods were jam too.

Have decided to start with the denting process of the car.

Both fenders, Foot boards will either be repaired or replaced.

Update for today.

The headlights i purchased were both for the left side. Rear light is of the worst possible quality desi made.

Will return these 2 things. Work on denting has started.

Fortunately floors aren't as expected. They are safe.

Other then that the car is pretty straight minor dings and scratches.

The body seems to be in good condition mostly. One thing I noticed in your pictures is that the fenders are joined to the foot boards. Is this intentional? From the factory the fenders are bolted to the footboard at the bottom. Did they join it due to the area being rusted out?

I was of the favour that we get new fenders and the denter said these are easily fixable.

He has assured me this is just to to fine align will cut the line in between and fenders have been screwed as they are supposed to be on the foot boards.

Else in any case if the fender needs to be removed it would be a nightmare

Rust in footboard & lower side of fender is very common,
Undercoating is must on footboard to keep it rust free !

Yes once the car is prepared ready to drive. A thorow wash/clean and undercoat is due.

Got line fixed today. The denter will fix the gapping the painter was reluctant. But even if filled it would show in some time.

The car was sanded, Minor dings and dents settled with fibre policate, bigger dents on both rear doors dented out.

Car sanded and taped, ready for paint. I wanted to go for a darker shade of grey like the one in the new Suzuki Swift. Everyone suggested against it keeping inside genuine and similar paint.

This is what happens when the body parts like fenders/bumpers are not removed and painted separately. The painter was trying to get away with minimal work but in time the filler and paint would crack creating a weak spot for rust to start.

I remember when got City and Corolla done. Even though Corolla fenders were sourced second hand.

Both cars front fenders, Bonnet and bumpers were painted separately because of the same reason.

This time I am trying a new paint shop, so their are issues and have to look into everything the guy I get done my usual work done didn't have time and space for my car.

That work shop was usually 2 steps ahead of me all the time.

Their isn't much behind bumpers, so I am letting be. Altho I wanted bumpers to be remove so that paint could be done behind bumpers.

Now I plan cover all that in the under coat once the car is done with the paint.

I wanted to get the engine room painted too. But the mechanic suggested against it.

My suggestions are as follows:
1. Finish roof rails and make it plain like old cultus without strips because this is the first place where water and dews collected and invites rust.
2. Change colour to new stylish colours like those coming in Japanese models in pearl shades or metallic ones like those comes in Passo or Mira
3. From where you got carburettor serviced
4. Remove bumpers for even reach of paint
5. Do not listen to mechanics or denter painters, this is your car and your hard earned money so go the way you like
6. Get engine room painted as well as interior too
7. Apply for new Sindhi Ajrak type registration number plates
8. From where you got meter serviced? Hafiz Jee?

1) joint will open in later stages if i do that, previously planned to wrap it but repair was necessary.

2) Color apna hee theek hai.

3) The inside is pretty decent condition, I really want to paint the engine room actually, Spoils the entire look. Would try degreaser first though.

5) kuch kuch sunni parti hai, werna would have to leave the office and sit at the work shop.

7) Applied for White plates for all cars with yellow plates. The agent suggested. Book ko rehne dein abi. Wo esei hai. When ever you sell new card hee banega.

More things came in today.

Changed Right side headlight.
Roof rubbers.
Orignal side mirrors (which actually show cars in distance).
New Fuel door and spring mechanism to pop open.
New Diggi shocks installed.
New bonnet lock and cable.

Very very dirty interior. Found a guy who has orignal fabric. Will come in on Monday and reupholster the driver seat.

Too much difference in fabric color. Decided to go with fixing of seats and add new seat covers.

Got the radiator serviced, It still has the factory radiator lords wala "copper wala"

One of the lights in the meter flickered, Horn wasn't working, Reverse light switch had issues.

Glad to see the rescue project going step by step.
it is always advisable to go mechanicals , suspension & electricals first, then body work and cosmetics.

Please tell how you have handled the door rust....... have u treated from inside the doors ???

as the car now painted, please tell the marked areas......are these the camera flaws or something else.

as for the side mirrors, there are two to thee qualities available. the expensive one costs around 2400/- and they are really good quality ones as compared to the 1200 & 600 wala.
