Have you sourced this yellow roof most probably of a Taxi? Can we have some closeup pics... Remember to lift the car up on javk stands and reenforce the chassis before cutting off and welding on the roof.

The new roof is also not in perfect condition, but it was the best among the available options. Roof has no previous major repairs, but needs some repairs now. The denter is confident that he can fix these flaws easily.

Only thing I am concerned is that the denter wants to replace the whole roof from the base of A-pillars and also cut the edges of B-pillars and C-pillars.....I.e. using the frame of roof that came from the donor vehicle.

if the vehicle is resting at balanced floor over jack stands there is a suzuki FX restoration thread check that out how the roof & pillars were supported to transplant the roof. It will help you guide, the denter working over your car

friday before namaz i passed by your car purposely and it is resting at make shift place in centre belt of double road. That is a BIG NO place for transplant of pillar & roof surgery.

Yes, the roof is sourced from a Taxi. We got the roof chipped from the vehicle ourselves...which also resulted in my denter spending some time at the police station .

Will share the close up pictures when I visit the shop tomorrow. Today I was not able to take detailed pics as my daughter (3.5 yrs old) started crying after seeing the car in this condition, she was like "baba meri orange car kis ne tor dia...." . I was not expecting this kind of intense emotional reaction so I had to rush to icecream shop to divert her attention

The car will move to the shop and the whole roof surgery will be done in my presence IA. This will delay the work of the car, but it is worth it. Also there is one fx at my denter's shop for replacement of roof, I will ask him to do the surgery on that first .

Thanks for the link, went through the whole thread . The guy is putting in a lot of efforts and spending time with the car something that I haven't been able to do as I planned.

Saw the video of how the first-fix of the roof and I was going to have heart attack just by thinking if my denter installed the roof in same way. I am not sure if the car loses its shape, it can ever be brought back to its originality. And in my opinion there is no use of spending money on a car that is dis-shaped.

the only way you can avoid that buckling of your car as @xulfiqar sir said you will need to supervise this yourself, park the car on a jack stand and make an exoskeleton inside the cabin welded to each corner of the chassis to prevent from the car folding inwards destroying the dimensions!

Bhai 16 days passed ......no updates??

There is no physical update for the work on this 120y as I have told the denter that we will now proceed with me sitting full time on his head. Lately I have been very busy with my work and also I am a bit nervous about the roof replacement procedure .

I have two projects running around Sher Shah Area, one day I got the time to visit the market and purchased some stuff for my other 120Y. Will be sharing the pics in coming posts.

its sad to see old cars getting butchered so much. the grey 120 y seems in better condition and it is with extended bumpers i think

Operation FX roof change in final stages. In my opinion, the denter has done a nice job provided the replacement roof was locally fabricated and had many imperfections.

Now its turn for our project car to move to the operation theater for the roof replacement.
