Nice restoration. I am thining of starting one to now but fortunately I already have most of the chrome bits and other small rare tit bits in brand new along with the factory workshop manual as once we owned oned which needed to be restored but later it was scraped as being parked out for years left it to rot so now looking for a slightly better project car

Restoration being done really needs passion and hardwork, myself have restored Mercedes W115 220 year 1972, W123 240D year 1984 and now on hand is a W110 200D year 1966.
As for the restoration of benztown will only say perfect. Please dont take me wrong the would suggest if you could install the orignal becker cassette/radio from that era. Also would make some changes on my car such as painting the exhaust silver and the rubber boots as of the car.
Will post the pics soon that is if cmisb have no objection, in the meantime you may see the pics on pakwheels under members ride/mercedes/ year 1972 and 1984. My cars have nickname YCCC.

this thread has become more interesting and precious with entrance of Benztown, he has put some special efforts and result we all can see the old merci looks like brand new, whenever i visit pw first i always like to view updates from Cmisb, hope he will come back with some new updates and pics aswell...

Bhai, I am on Page 4 right now ...

This is really something very ambitious. To my mind, restoration would ideally require a rust-free car .. rust is vehicular cancer, and really difficult/ impossible to get rid of

but unfortunately it seems that the restoration is dead now. when he started the project many members warned him about the cost and effort required to complete the project but he was desperate, i think now he has realized that he wasting his time and money, when quite a number of pretty similar mercs are moving around.
